12 Days of Joyswag: Nintendo 3DS plus eight games (and a ton of Skylanders)

Dec 25th 2011 1:23AM (Joystiq)
Often while waiting for games to load, or back when I played WoW, after dying and while waiting on the raid to wipe! Also more often than not, my DSes get played while I'm lying in bed, kind of like reading a book before bedtime, but in this case it's a 3D animated and interactive book where I get to blow things up instead of stimulate my imagination, and come on, isn't that what Christmas is all about?

Comment to win some Saturday night swag

Aug 29th 2009 8:44PM (WoW)
I'm going to go ahead and use a little bit of strategy this time around. I don't typically win these swag giveaways, like, ever. Also, I know that the selection process is totally random, which is cool, wouldn't have it any other way. I can't help but wonder how the selection process works, though.. if it's just the judge clicking on a random comment page and scrolling around until he makes up his mind or what. That's probably the way I'd do it, anyway. There's also the possibility of them having some sort of automatic random post picker, which would be far more efficient, but nonetheless require programming know-how and resources which the designers of this fantastic website might not feel like messing with, when a "click, scroll, then click again" approach would work just as well! Either way, I'm getting a little bit off point with this comment. Let's get back to it, shall we?

My point in the above paragraph is that there's a good chance the judge hand-selects these comments. Scrolling through at least page one of the comments, I noticed that almost everyone involved posted 1-5 word entries of whatever came to mind. Now, I'm not downplaying the efforts of the other entrants. No sense in it at all, since I may be terribly wrong and this comment vanishes sight unseen into the nether region of this post, banished to the land of wind and ghosts! But if my plan works (as the have been known to do from time to time), then I shall be the one looking down from my high pedestal and laughing, LAUGHING at all the other people who felt earning a loot code to make other people dance like your personal marionette collection, but couldn't be bothered to give to this contest the commitment necessary to pull out a truly glorious victory! They will be lost in the scrolly-spaces of this comment board whereas I, the great and powerful Mephis of Dalaran, shall be given the code to command my guild-mates to do my bidding, even moreso than they already must! Don't you see? My making this fantastic and elaborate post to the comments, I am all-but assuring my victory! Well, all-but assuring it, should my plan be right. Again, if the judge uses some sort of random comment-picker, or doesn't click on this particular page (looking to be page 5) when doing the "click, scroll, click" method, well, then I'm afraid my efforts were all for naught. No matter, though! If nothing else, I can be proud of myself for having tried. Good for me!

Here's my idea... give the death penalty for parking violations, and when someone is found guilty and put to death, their assets are confiscated by the government and placed into an account. At the end of each month, the money is distributed evenly amongst the survivors, stimulating the economy, and as an added bonus, this would make available countless numbers of jobs which will need to be filled immediately, making unemployment a thing of the past! How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Fanswag: Holiday Wish List Giveaway (Part 2)

Nov 30th 2008 7:14PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I know I'll get crucified for saying this on X3F, but my favorite holiday gaming moment would be the year we got the Wii, and spent all afternoon creating Miis of every one of us that was there. Maybe the nxe's avatars can have a similar appeal this holiday? Only one way to know for sure.

Anyways, give me free stuff because I'm awesome and I read your site more than these other people!
