Series EV is latest Dungeon Defender on Steam, activates March 29

Well that Sucks, I do certainly feel the console pain ~.~ I was really looking forward to Xplatform play before that got yanked .

But it does sound like there will be some console patching. Sounds like their XBLA is locked in certification (delayed a week or so) and there should be some PSN patch around April 10th. If a cursory going over of the DunDef news page can be relied on.

Consoles will probably see some major love when they finish the Lost shards quests and can offer them as one lump patch along with accumulated minipatches/characters and costumes.

I don't think its as much the time/man-power but the cost and validation processes that the console czars require to approve a patch. Not only do they force you to jump through flaming hoops but they charge you for the privilege.

As much as Trendy irks me at times I would blame Sony and MS before TE when it comes to console woes.

Probably the first thing I have seen DunDef wise that has actually made me want to get back into the game.

Now I'm torn ~.~ not sure if will get or will wait for inevitable steam sale.

Ngmoco exec: Free-to-play is not exploitative

@ntellect

I tend to agree 100%, with P2P I feel obligated to play because I have shelled out ahead of time. Where as F2P gives me more of a feeling that I can come and go as I please.

F2P does not inherently suggest an exploitative experience.
Companies actively choose to make or not to make their F2P game as such.

Unfortunately bad companies and blatantly abusive/exploitative practices give all F2P games a bad rap.

A well balanced F2P game will be enjoyable and the cash shop will be an added perk not a necessity to turn a bleak gaming experience into an enjoyable one.

Why I Play: EVE Online

Mar 28th 2012 10:26AM (Massively)
I have personally found it is much more enjoyable just to read all the articles of drama that come out of EVE than actually playing the game myself.

After having briefly playing it, It was fun but it got boring and the looming threat of being griefed into dust just wasn't worth the recurring price of admission for me.

SimCity requires internet connection to play, will be sold outside of Origin

I'm of the mind it was more to push Origin (hallowed are the Ori) and to datamine the hell out of their customers.... the DRM is just the cherry.

@The Tim

God what if during their battle they don't yield to each other, instead fusing into some sort of super omega level blight upon the consumer world :(
