@Sephirah Absolutely this. Running on foot is not fun. Having 2 attacks until level 20 is not fun. "The game starts at 50" means you care so little about my time that I have to spend it, as well as money, to earn the fun.
Rift prior to the changes sucked. You heard all this great stuff about flexibility, changing roles, trying out builds, and you sighed. Withholding a fundamental gameplay aspect simply to make you play more indicates your game needs more motivators to play.
There's a reason I've leveled 50+ characters in WoW, but only one over 50.
Was the regional decision made for marketing reasons, or just because international sales regulations are as stupid as they have always been for games?
As for being sold out - Amazon still seems to be selling CE's and DD's. Am I missing something?
2. In the days of MUSHes, this was much less of an issue. Many people's info contained statements like "consensual combat, light romance ok." It helped that you could create locked private spaces I'm sure, but it wasn't so crazy or taboo (and thus was less of a thing).
All the big name AAA MMOs still seem to be subs, barring Guild Wars 2. It's possible TSW won't be sub based, but I'd be surprised. Also, if you assume sub and you're wrong, hey nice surprise. Vice versa, and you're angry.
You know those bastards that give college kids credit cards?
I had an AmEx (and really, what on earth good is an AmEx to a college kid?) and a Mastercard. Both got maxed out playing SoY. I never committed to the full package, just paying by the hour.
I remember the pig nose faces so well. There were other games on INN, but playing Hearts just didn't compare....
