Basically, there's this guy named the Doctor. He's a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, and he travels the universe through time and space seeking adventure (which he always finds.) He typically travels with a companion. The current show is a continuation of the classic show, but viewing of the classic show is not required. There is one conceit of the show you should be aware of, and that is the reason it has been able to go on so long. The species that the Doctor comes from have the ability to regenerate their bodies when they die. However, they will change their appearance by doing so. This is used to bring a new actor in to the lead role when the incumbent wishes to leave. The current Doctor, played by Matt Smith, is the 11th incarnation. The new series began with the 9th Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston.
It's a fun show. There's a great versatility to the concept, and it can be anything from comedy, to straight sci-fi, to gothic horror depending on the episode.
My favorite animated film is Wall-E. I can't easily explain why. It's one of those things where you just know. When I saw this film, it was love from the very first viewing.
Well, I hate Dr. Pepper, but then again the same company owns A&W Root Beer which I love. Maybe this promotion will extend across all of their products like Pepsi and Coke's always do.
