I'm happy that some of these classic genre's are getting revivals through Kickstarter via some enthusiastic developers, but like others, I'm weary about how long this will last. Sure, the last few Kickstarters since Double Fine's adventure game pledge have been doing pretty damn good with regards to donations, but good things can't last for long. Not to mention what Coldheater said above, these guys might go over budget, it happens.

@Rubbishy Me Actually I think it's the "gold" release, i.e. 1.0. Originally it was 1.8, but since the game has been in further development, they had time to get it up to 1.0.

@FinalFantasyXIIIsucks Ending criticisms aside, Mass Effect 3 is actually very good, I wouldn't even try to associate it with any other game that is getting slammed in reviews, it would be a disservice.

@Schlecht IGN blasted the game too. If anything, of the reviews I have so far read, I've only seen one positive and it wasn't from a major gaming publication of any sort, just a small site for games by presumbly an average joe.

Wow, I'm really starting to question my pre-order of this game. The fact that it doesn't even have any local multiplayer is a major sting to me since I have other games that do and seem to be more complex than this one. I'll have to find out when I get home whether this game will be a hit or miss with me, but I'm definitely getting some buyers remorse already.

@King Johngie the Fourth 4 of my friends tried tackling that the other night, they equipped their best equipment and the best lvl 20 class they had. They weren't able to make it past wave 3. They were able to get the objective, but they were just overrun by banshee's and brutes. You know it's gonna get hard on gold when they spawn the harder enemies that are typically in the later waves in the first few waves.

I actually have been digging the whole aspect of the multiplayer, it initially seemed one offed, but I've been really loving the different classes and different species you get to play as. Originally started off with the Vanguard, but then switched to a Soldier class, and eventually ended up with the Sentinel class. Turian sentinel is a BEAST, love him.

@FlashJS Nah, they're gloating on 40 perfect scores from publishers on the review for the game in general. Has really nothing to do with the multiplayer aside from them saying "Hey, people love this game!"

I'm still holding out hope of seeing some sort of Kinect version of the first, letalone the second. It can be done, look at what they did with Fruit Ninja!

So they'll actually include the online multiplayer, workable via PSN? None of the other HD trilogies that had multiplayer modes (I think only Splinter Cell) even bothered including the original modes that came with the original games. I like this!
