Game Gear emulation outclasses the other 3DS Virtual Console games

Mar 14th 2012 5:34PM (Joystiq)
Wow, Nintendo should have taken notes on this, that's actually more than I expected with what they would do with Game Gear emulation. I figured they would take the easy way out and just make a clear copy and paste job with the emulation job. Well done Sega.

Mass Effect anime coming this fall, all about James Vega

Mar 13th 2012 2:39PM (Joystiq)
I know many people, myself included, don't really like James, but I have been hearing a good chunk of people saying that either he's more tolerable if you play as a femshep or that if you really get down to his backstory, he's not a bad character to get used to.

Conducting a symphony of destruction in Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor

Best moment from the second vid was where you get the option to share a canteen with the other members, the guy goes up to the top, and right in front of the woman outside in the blistering heat, proceeds to drink the whole thing and hand her the empty canteen. That was just priceless.

Halo 4 bringing the Battle Rifle back, introducing unlockable abilities in progression system

Watching that video and getting to the one point where the map has a mech suit being built, the first thought in my head is "What's Metal Gear doing in there?"

Ratchet and Clank HD listed on Amazon France

@Ryguy226 Edit, I meant to say that Deadlocked WASN'T much of a departure from Ratchet and Clank as Jak X was to Jak and Dexter. You really can't compare a cooperative story and multiplayer based game to cart racing (or whatever you can consider the "cars" used in Jak X).

Ratchet and Clank HD listed on Amazon France

Yes! A thousand times, YES! I've been itching at playing Ratchet and Clank HD-ified, especially considering I never got to play the original. Even if they decide on not including Deadlock, even though it was much of a departure as Jak X was to the Jak series, I'm not at all concerned since I have a copy for my PS2.

SSX review: The odd couple

@Staticmojo Classic controls for tricks you say? It's been a while since I played the original titles, but I do remember the tricks being pretty straight forward via shoulder buttons, but apparently I've been hearing the newer scheme is even easier, going with Skate like trick controls. Never played Skate so I'm a bit in the dark, but I'll try out the classic to see how it fits after trying the newer one, just for comparisons sake.

David Jaffe leaves Eat Sleep Play, layoffs hit developer [Update]

@eat it Wow, laying off 8 employees spells doom for the product that has yet to be released but has generated a lot of buzz from a demo of said product and is consistently at the top of software charts for pre-orders on Amazon. Boy did you convince me on the validity of your argument.

@eat it But....there was like 3 other Twisted Metals released in the 2000's: Black, Brawl and Head-On. All have done pretty good, especially Black and Head-On. Hell Twisted Metal had a re-release back in 08 and that did pretty good for a re-release.

Your argument is invalid.

@Unagi Double tap the brake to go into reverse too. But it's not exactly dumbing down, if anything it's making it more efficient. I lost track of how many times I've been driving in the old Twisted metals and would accidently throw a mine behind me or shoot a freeze missile by accident. At least with this, it makes it a bit more manageble. Believe me, I've played Twisted Metal since 2 back in the day, I endorse the controls and think they are fine.
