its made for the fan, they dont give a crap if a casual gamer doesnt like it, they never created the game for them in the first place.
iv completed the game in 19 hours, not very well but completed on solid normal none the less and i bloming loved it.
the last cutscene is long, but oh well, you know your not going to play after that so you just skip its so simple, i watched it to finish off the story.
the 10 minute gameplay 20 minute cutscene is complete BS. the game starts and it goes from about 5 minutes of cutscene to a minute of gameplay to give a quick breif of moving around. then you get a 1 minute cutscene and about 1 minute of gameplayto show that your aiming for stealth, you then have a 3 minutes cutscene with 10 minutes of stealthy gameplay and then a very immersive cutscene.
i played the heart out of this game, and the second i finished i went straight onto load and boss hard to start a new game, i enjoy it that much.
i also like how this game knows its a game, none of this acting real stuff, and then funny comments to contradict itself, "this is real life not some fantasy game"
i found the story telling good, and the cutscenes very immersive, dont like them skip its not hard to do.
thing is if you like this game, theres a big chance youll like the other games, even if you thought you dont. the shooting is great, the technique is a steep learning curve and the dumbing down is no where to be found, its pure MGS action, dont like it, Kojima dont care, and selling 1.3 millions copies in 2 days would you?
okay big spoiler dont read if you dont want to know.
------------------------------------------------------- that comes at a point in the game where you have to go back to shadow moses (the place in MGS1) and you come to a point where in MGS1 is the exact place where you would have to of changed the discs, therefor it is in reference to MGS1.
also theres a stab at the sixaxis in the game, psycho mantis is there and trys to control your saves and controller, and go no, your using sixaxis, no vibrate!. and also says you dont have a memory card, i cant hack your files or something like that.
theres also a reference to saving where it shows you a picture of a PS1 with a memory card plugged into.
and finally a reference to COD4 about kids playing video games which train them up for the army then a screenshot from cod4 comes up as a flashback.
ALSO MGS4 is amazing game, completed it watched every cutscene on the edge of my seat not wanting to play but to find out the story and i ma now going through the game again its that good. ------------------------------------------------------
remember the all of the above is spoilers, dont blame me if you looked.
Gears of War 3 campaign preview: 'End of the world, baby'
Aug 17th 2011 10:47AM (Joystiq)Lambent; Glowing, gleaming, or flickering with a soft radiance.
They cal them lambent because they are lambent, its as simple as that.
Also Baird gets captured and carried down to that section of the hollow by the giant cargo locust.
And the question of the locust queen is a question they have purposely left for the final game, its obvious shell play a big part in the story.
