I'm not really sure where you're getting the fanboy strawman from. As others addressed, Ford phoned it in. For the amount of money he was most likely paid, he could have tried a bit harder.

If criticizing an actor for half-assing a job makes one a fanboy, you may need to recalibrate your vocabulary a bit.

Hell, the commercial would have been more entertaining if Ford were as drunk/stoned as he was when he appeared on Conan a few months back.

Instead of Harrison Ford, maybe Sony should have dressed a piece of beef jerky in a leather jacket and placed it on the couch, next to a bullwhip and PS3 controller.

The jerky at least would have pretended it gave more of a shit.

Anyways, my gripe abou this is that I couldn't care less about the skins. I'll be curious to see how much the maps are.

Some people were bitching about it upthread, but you are not alone. Personally, I detest it. I think Sam Raimi understood the character enough that he realized the original Ditko design is fairly iconic for a reason.

Some costume redesigns, like making Batman dress in black, actually make sense. The new Spidey one just screams of some out-of-touch Hollywood exec thinking he and the marketing group "know what the kids want."

I will say one thing in defense of SM3: as terrible as the game was overall (collecting hearts while swinging with MJ? Kill me now), the boss fights weren't all *that* bad. That was fun; just Spidey duking it with his rouges gallery.

I sometimes wonder if the way to do a superhero game is to go the Shadow of the Colossus route: all boss fights with supervillians. No bullshit side missions, minimal story.

On a (why so) serious note: not really. Things like the whole "exclusive DLC for specific retailers" is *way* out of hand. I get the business aspect of it, but receiving all the DLC in a nice tidy package is understandable.

I, on the other hand, will be getting this game in a few days as a belated birthday gift. Can't wait. I have shattered any virtual criminal collarbones in a while.
