Batman: Arkham City review: A world of difference

@ManisObsolete

Yes. You're a monster that makes the Joker look like a kindly kindergarten teacher.

On a (why so) serious note: not really. Things like the whole "exclusive DLC for specific retailers" is *way* out of hand. I get the business aspect of it, but receiving all the DLC in a nice tidy package is understandable.

I, on the other hand, will be getting this game in a few days as a belated birthday gift. Can't wait. I have shattered any virtual criminal collarbones in a while.

This video demonstrates why I never leave the house without a canteen. Or explore the Sahara.

Gotham City Impostors animated short sets the stage

I floated this idea on a previous post abou this game, so apologies if you've seen it before.

I'm in nerd mode here, but in all likelihood Batman would be just as, if not more, pissed at the Batman vigilantes since they use firearms. That's a big no-no for him.

What might have been cool that if some point during gameplay, Batman swoops in Evil Otto/Berserk style and, regardless of which team, you have to avoid him for 30 seconds or so. He catches you, he shatters your collarbone and you go to jail.

Imagine that for a second: "Allright, another minute and we've got this game OH SHIT IT'S THE BAT RUN!!!!"

Probably not gonna happen, but still. Nerd rage off.

PSA: Uncharted 3's multiplayer available at Subway

Score one for Microsoft. I'm fairly positive the PS3 doesn't have a global setting like that. One can dream though...

I hear ya. Generally one of the first things I do with any multiplayer game is search for the "mute all" options.

I think I've played U2 multi unmuted 3 times, tops, for the reason you cite. I've been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2 on the Mac lately, and one of the nice things about it is there's very little voice spam.

Ninja Theory: Enslaved performance prevented team expansion

I really wanted to like this game, as I did enjoy Heavenly Sword. Unfortunately, the demo left a big pile of 'meh' all over my PS3. The cutscenes looked fantastic, but the gameplay didn't impress me.

I may give it a chance if I go with the game option on Qwickster (God, that feels wrong saying that for some reason.)

Batman: Arkham City trailer is no laughing matter

True, true. I do get that. Still, the absolute venom (see what I did there?) in Hamills's delivery of the Joker's lines is both enthralling and terrifying at the same time. You don't want to meet this guy in a lighted alley, let alone a dark one.

If anything, his performance is a perfect response to people who dismiss video games as an art form.

Batman: Arkham City trailer is no laughing matter

After listening to Mark Hamill in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, I get the feeling he's actually been holding back the Joker's insanity for 20 years.

I know logically it's the same performance as the WB series, but IMO Hamill brings a level of overwhelming evil in these games that rivals Heath Ledger's take on the Joker.
