Seagate pairs 7200RPM HDD with 4GB of NAND in 2.5-inch Momentus XT hybrid drive

I'm getting one of these as soon as someone shows me a UK retailer selling them. I already have an Intel 80gb X-M25 SSD for my desktop, so this will be for my laptop, because that is the only part i'm not too happy about, the speed of the hard drive.

Great for a desktop replacement. But i stick to gaming on my PC, loathe gaming on laptops - regardless of the specs.

Core i7-equipped MacBook Pro CPU hits 100 degrees Celsius (updated)

I'm one of the owners of these machines, and i did notice them using the bottom plate as a heatsink. However, the only time i became uncomfortable was when i was trying out crysis on it in bootcamp.

I'd say it is generally fine though, only by playing intensive games on windows have i got it to run uncomfortably hot. But i didn't buy a Mac to play games, i have a desktop PC for that.

@rocketsfan20 It works with all games the classic controller already works with, since it is exactly the same controller internally.

Who should buy Palm?

Apr 12th 2010 11:35AM (Engadget)
Sony could put them with Ericsson and use palm for the software, because Sony's phone seem to generally have pretty good hardware, it is the software that always lets them down, and i think WebOS could do wonders for them.

LCD vs Plasma in 2010

Apr 9th 2010 5:59PM (Engadget)
I'm a recent Plasma convert, and i'm extremely annoyed at myself for being one of those who fell into the misconceptions of plasma, because i'm usually one who researches for myself when it comes to technology.

But yeah, i went into a retailer (UK, Currys) and they only had a few Plasma tvs out, which was Panasonic's G20 and they must of had around 50 other LCD's out around this one Plasma, and it had the best image quality out of them all displayed there, and it was quite a large difference. I know, they set them up specifically to show better on retail floors, but comparisons still stand.

I can't believe and i'm actually quite annoyed how plasma is shunned, despite its superior quality in the most important things. But yeah, i'm another Panasonic G20 owner, and extremely happy, best TV i have owned.

@supert0nes Ah yeah, now i remember. Hearing people tell me that a plasma TV wouldn't last very long, but from what I've heard that issue is almost gone?
