@grumbles The Panasonic G20 is actually a better TV than the Samsung 8500 LED LCD in everything but form factor. Just look up the reviews on both the TV's.

Curious as to what Engadget readers think about this, why do you think plasmas lost out in market share.

I think it is generally accepted that Plasma technology can offer /generally/ better image quality, with the downsides being that it requires a larger panel to offer the higher resolutions, whereas LCD can offer higher resolutions at smaller screen size.

I may be wrong, so feel free to correct me when i say this but:

Plamsa advantages:
- Generally Accepted image quality is better than LCD
- Better handling of motion, good for gamers.
- Little to no viewing angle problems
- Cheaper per-pixel (??)

LCD advantages:
- Higher resolutions at lower screen sizes
- Thinner, lighter form factor
- Lower power consumption

Forgive me if i mean anything, and feel free to correct - which is the aim of this comment. I'd like to hear your feelings on why LCD taken the lead, because for me - plamsa should of done and i'm not sure why it didn't.

@tobsmonster2 Oh yeah, i was really only speaking from what i can imagine is fusion garages mindset, i'm not one for advocating a lacking product regardless of if they are a large corporation or a start up trying to make it.

That isn't nice. Poor Fusion Garage, being a small start-up trying to make it, then having huge companies like Adobe bad mouthing your product.

@commenter7 To make you upgrade to the 3GS just before they announce a whole new iPhone in a few months. Then make you upgrade once again.

Apple likes to make you feel that you never have the best and should keep working to get the best.

@fsX It is just his style of writing, giving context to his usual daily routine, which ties in how he uses his gadgets.

May just have to swap out my 920 for one of these, not straight away, obviously, because i've only just put this one together, but maybe at the end of 2010 start of 2011.

I know, i probably won't need it, the performance difference won't be great. But i'm an idiot and for no apparent reason, i want this.

Having just built an X58 PC, that is kind of good news for me. Because by 2011 i'll be looking at building another computer, so by then hopefully USB 3.0 will be around and about.
