Sakurai describes 'grueling development' of Smash Bros. Melee

Dec 8th 2010 9:57PM (Joystiq)
@Smokemonsta I didn't think it was the online. Melee didn't have online and it was fine.

Brawl just felt clunky and slow relatively.

A shame. We used to keep the GameCube on 24/7 with Melee in. We'd play 3 or 4 player games usually at least 15 hours a week. For years. It was ridiculous how much we played that game - thousands of hours.

We got tired of Brawl within less than a week. It didn't feel as exciting or as much skill dependant. Arguably, though, it's a bit of an uncanny valley effect - it's so close to what we view as the real thing that minor differences are extra bothersome, whereas a bigger departure would be much less so.

'Boardwalk Empire' Season Finale Recap: Is Nucky's Luck Running Out?

Dec 6th 2010 9:58PM (AOL TV)
I loved this show.

I felt like quite a bit happened. There was emotional impact, as opposed to The Walking Dead, which is an emotional void and an entire waste of an amazing premise.

'Dexter' Season 5, Episode 11 Recap

Dec 6th 2010 4:43PM (AOL TV)
That blood on a homicide officer's shoe is noticed and leads to DNA testing seems loose. If Quinn goes down like that I'll be irked. I think that, rather than repeat the whole Dexter-is-caught-and-kills we may end up with Quinn being satisfied that Dexter is the vigilante due to Lumen and a personal connection from having lost Rita.

We'll see.

Not sure why Johnny Chase would keep whatshername around for so many years, a living witness, and stay hands-off, only to kill her in a sudden rage that you struggle to imagine he hasn't had before. A lot felt lacking there. Plus why would he then keep Lumen alive? I'm sure we'll see some plan, but it feels contrived.

Quite a bit of this season has felt contrived, but overall it's been one of the best and very, very entertaining.

'The Beaver' Trailer: Mel Gibson Talks to the Hand (Puppet)

Dec 4th 2010 10:53AM (Moviefone Blog)
The voiceover and music sound amateur.
The whole first half of the trailer looks like a fake trailer someone put on youtube with their own voice and music over random Mel Gibson clips.

From there, well, the trailer seems to give us the entire movie. Start to finish. It's like when the Speed 2 trailer showed the boat stopping...

'The Walking Dead' Season 1, Episode 5 Recap

Nov 30th 2010 12:12AM (AOL TV)
Funny, I thought Andrea watching over Amy as she came to life was awful and horribly acted.

Go figure.

'Dexter' Season 5, Episode 9 Recap

Nov 22nd 2010 4:35PM (AOL TV)
The show got so much better when Astor and Cody were removed.
It was a good episode, but I'll be happy to continue never seeing them again.

Spy Shots: BMW 3 Series caught testing, interior revealed for first time

Nov 19th 2010 5:02PM (Autoblog)
Maybe it's the camouflage, maybe it's the car, but the silhouette makes me cringe.

Too much of a slope from the too high trunk to too low nose. Looks weak and fat, like something other cars would prey on. I'm a huge BMW fan, but not liking this.

Give me an e36 or e46 any day.

Spy Shots: BMW 3 Series caught testing, interior revealed for first time

Nov 19th 2010 5:00PM (Autoblog)
I'm an enormous BMW fan.
But the slope of that hood makes me cringe.

Maybe it's just from the camoflauge, but it looks much weaker than the e36 and e46. Way too much of a curve from the trunk (which is too high) to the nose (which is too low.)

'Cowboys & Aliens' Trailer: Daniel Craig Rides Into an Alien Attack

Nov 17th 2010 8:13PM (Moviefone Blog)
Funny, I didn't know Ford was in this, and seeing him really dulled my excitement.

I can't recall the last time I enjoyed him in anything, but it has to be the mid 90s. Kind of like how I haven't enjoyed DeNiro since Casino in the early-mid 90s. He just seemed to stop caring.

Maybe this project has pulled him back. It seems unlikely he'd end up in it otherwise, as all the other actors bring their A game to anything.

'Sarah Palin's Alaska' Is Unsatisfying for Both Reality and Nature Fans

Nov 15th 2010 3:49PM (AOL TV)
In fairness, they almost did something to us, but then she lost the election and wasn't able to.

Or you could say she did do something to us by torpedoing any chance McCain had and forcing Obama on us.

Depends on how you look at things I suppose, but for either party there's plenty of reason to hate.
