socrates. please. just.. GOD. INTERNET. RETRO CONTROLLERS. GC CONTROLLERS. ENOUGH BUTTONS TO PLAY VIRTUA FIGHTER. Okay. So let's not bring this up again, alright Internet?
The only argument is, "I don't want to have to buy an alternate controller just to play normal games!" And that's a valid argument. But it's not just true that "you could never ever, for example, play a Virtua fighter type game on the Wii."
...... There's an annoying trend in recent game journalism to ask needlessly negative or indirectly insulting questions to game company employees. Please stop it. You don't come off as "gritty" or "hardcore". You come off as rude and pretentiously pompous.
Uh, the PSP can compete with this because.. it can display multimedia, can't it? Oh and its browser is built-in, right? And it can save things to as large of a memory stick as you can purchase, I think. I'm not too familiar with the PSP since I don't own one, but even I am able to see how it is comparable in functionality to this DS browser. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Now take that last sentence and apply it to all PSP vs DS debates. Sigh, sigh, sigh, Internet.
*I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents.*
So here it is: I was very disheartened by this news, since I've been assuming that they'd use the SP/DS batteries. But actually, I'd rather it use AA batteries than GBA/DS-style plug-in-to-recharge batteries, because let's say I have four Wiimotes (which isn't such a far-fetched idea, imho) -- they would require a total of FOUR power outlets to simultaneously recharge, thereby making it a huge inconvenience.
HOLY CRAP THOSE BACKGROUNDS WEREN'T PRERENDERED...!! Awesome. I totally thought they were, judging from screenshots. I'm actually impressed with the DS' 3D grapical capabilities! What's going on!?
Why is it that every game site I visit is accused of having a Nintendo bias? Why can't it just be that the general opinion is for once in Nintendo's favor? NO. DON'T ANSWER THAT. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF YOUR MIND-NUMBING REASONING. -__-
"Our Wii's are coming with anticipation." In case anyone missed it the first time.
Hearing about all these possible control schemes gets me really excited... but I, like Ubi evidently, sadly have not been able to come up with a method of control with the Wiimote that is as intuitive as I would like. The best I can come up with is to use Z1 or Z2 on the nunchaku as a "strafe" button, allowing the analog stick to handle all movement, leaving the Wiimote itself to be used strictly for full-screen aiming.

That's all the victory the Wii needs, in my mind. Sales be damned; innovation paves the way for the future.
