The Light and How to Swing It: Cataclysm class preview wishlist

Any bets on a combat resurrection being introduced? They got rid of the shaman's exclusivity with bloodlust, so why not get rid of a druid's exclusive combat rez? It'd fit with the lore a heck of a lot more than a druid's would, just going off the WCIII level 6 paladin ability.

I realize that was a mass resurrection, but it was usable in combat! Of course, if they just wanted to port that from WCIII as is, I'd take it. Oh no, half the raid dead? Not anymore!

April Fools: Blizzard announces Blackthorne 2, Queen's Quest, Snuggie

The fact that Blizzard included a picture of a woman sitting at a computer playing the box art of Warcraft III with a turntable and skull next to her makes this amazing to me. Does anyone else recall the Penny Arcade lambasting the Viewsonic (I think) ad, where the guy had a turntable and skull in the background?

Attention to detail!

Is the Alliance aiming to retake lost lands in Cataclysm?

In addition to providing some solid lore, the destruction of Southshore could also be rooted in Blizzard's attempts to open WoW up to newcomers. Even now, getting to Southshore at the correct level can be kind of a pain, I imagine even more for people who don't know their way around so well (It always seems like there are some skull-level raptors way too close to the road in Arathi).

By making Hillsbrad more Horde-oriented, it makes it easier to direct Alliance low-level characters to the proper zones without risking multiple corpse runs.

Blizzard has a pretty clear limitation of liability section in the EULA.

One thing you have to remember about our law system, as well, is that it is very expensive to sue. Is your dissatisfaction with the service worth tens of thousands of dollars?

@ Flawless:

On the PTR the Dragon's Eyes do in fact have more stats than they do live. I'm assuming this is the route Blizzard took to balance out the fact that they are no longer prismatics.

I don't have any actual numbers since I'm at work, sadly.

Breakfast Topic: Which role is the hardest?

May 31st 2009 10:11AM (WoW)
My only real experience tanking was during BC, and it left me scarred. My warrior was doing Shattered Halls for the first time, and I was a bit undergeared... it didn't end well.

I'm quite a bit better at healing, but unless you have a group with whom you're very comfortable, healing can be very stressful, as many have already pointed out. Nothing like sudden spikes of damage on several people in a raid to make you tense up! That's actually one thing I like about, say, void zones on Sarth: if they get hit, they die. There's nothing you can do about it, and the only person at fault was the person dumb enough to ignore the big purple circle.

DPS can only be considered difficult whenever you're required to do something outside your rotation during a boss fight; killing the little repair bots during XT comes to mind. By no means hard, but there's not much that is as DPS. Speaking of that, your little jab at ret paladins isn't really valid. In their case, it's just a lot harder to separate good rets from bad, as there isn't much of a rotation at all. But saying that DKs have it harder is absolutely ludicrous.

Ghostcrawler on the future of 5-mans

May 26th 2009 1:03AM (WoW)
I, for one, would love it if there was a 5 man that, in addition to actual usable gear, dropped purely cosmetic items as well. Think like "Sulfuras Replica" or something, or even just brand new stuff. I'd certainly come back to get items to wear around town. Would fit rather well with the new Argent Tournament 5 man. If it's like the Ring of Blood, the cosmetic items could be the armor/weapons the boss you are fighting wears. As an example, if Kael'Thas came back, he could drop his special-looking robes or something.
