LA Noire DLC and Rockstar Pass pre-order scheme revealed

May 31st 2011 12:54PM (Joystiq)
@ThePunisher138 Man, I forgot how angry nerds get when you speak your opinion. You don't need to tell me things I already know (like don't buy it or just pay the $8 dollars), it's called an opinion. If you didn't have such a terrible attitude I may have given you my DLC codes for free as I am unlikely to redeem them because PSN is down and I've beaten the game and want to trade it in because I see little value/fun factor in the DLC.

Look, it is a great way to distribute DLC, but for people who got most of that stuff free as a preorder then it is cheaper to just buy the cases. Yes, it is a great deal for you, but I would imagine most of us got a good deal of pre-order content.

LA Noire DLC and Rockstar Pass pre-order scheme revealed

May 31st 2011 12:22PM (Joystiq)
Ok, so why does everyone think this is a great deal? The idea of Rockstar pass is cool and all, but it isn't a good value. Bear with me for a second. It is "$20" for all of the content bought seperately, or $10 for the online pass. However, most of us preordered the game and got atleast one of those things free. I for one am only interested in the cases. 2 of which I got as a free preorder from Amazon, and that leaves 2 left @ $4 each. So really I only have $8 left to spend and NOT $20. Therefore buying the rockstar pass is actually more expensive and is just trying to make me not trade the game in, which I am going to. I enjoyed the first half of this game, but it relied too much on it's stale uninteresting narrative to be a great game. The story was not enthralling in the least and the gameplay consists of little more than, drive to location, look for clues, interrogate suspect, possibly chase and subdue suspect, rinse and repeat for about 12 hours. I found myself not caring about the cases or their outcomes as they had little to no effect on the actual progression of the game. It just affected little inconsequential things from what I could tell. Basically I have had my fill of LA with what was on the disc.

Sony 'continuing production of PSP Go' in America

Apr 21st 2011 3:54PM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified)
Actually North America DOES = America. If you weren't a moron you would know that North America describes a continent which encompasses both the United States of America and Canada along with many more countries. America refers to only a country, but apparently they are continuing production in the ENTIRE CONTINENT.

So yes, North America = America but America does not = north america. Because if you are in America you are in north america however you can be in canada and still be in North America but NOT America. So yes the more accurate title would specify North America but you seem to think North America refers ONLY to Canada, atleast that is what I gathered from your post.

In short the canadians aren't giving us a bad name, but Americans who don't know 5th grade level geography do give America a bad name and most likely contribute to why the rest of the world hates us. We have it all and you don't even know what continent you are on.

PlayStation Network issues persist as hacker collective continues attacks

Apr 6th 2011 2:18PM (Joystiq)
Honestly, I don't agree with what Hotz did. He does seem like more of a stand up guy than anonymous though. Wouldn't anonymous' B.S. be stopped dead in its tracks if George stood up and publicly said "You do not speak for me or fight on my behalf. We are nothing alike and do not share the same fight." Wouldn't something like that pull the soapbox right out from under anonymous? I mean they are doing this under the veil of self righteousness and "sticking up for the little guy", but what if they little guy they were "protecting" said that they were outright wrong?

It would seem to me that Hotz is and always has been malicious. By not denouncing these acts done in his name, he is just as guilty as the ones actually carrying out the attacks. He either needs to stand up or be guilty by association.

Video tour: Xbox 360 Fall 2010 Dashboard update

What eye candy? The endless display of ads? You know with the XMB you can pick a theme and since the XMB is unintrusive, you can actually see and enjoy your theme. I assume you're a complete narcicist though and just enjoy looking at the avatar that you have built in your own image. "OHHHHH look how pretty the digital version of me is".

P.S. you can make a much more realistic looking avatar in PS home. Sucks you can only use it in PS home though, because PS home blows!!!!

Analyst: Kinect sales could top 4 million in 2010

Aug 13th 2010 11:05AM (Joystiq)
4 million in less than a year?!?! NEVER! It's too expensive for their base, and not a very large catalog. They're gonna target kids and families and they are going to be rational and say "hey, lets just buy a wii for about half the price, which also has a massive (kinda crappy) library. OHHHH and more than 2 people at a time can play. No brainer here."

Interview: Peter Molyneux talks Kinect, Milo, and Fable 3

Aug 6th 2010 11:23AM (Joystiq)
We forgive you Peter, just bite your tongue in the future.

Decent read, I'm glad he finally learned to keep his mouth shut until he has some tech. Only took him about 10 years!!!! I can honestly understand and appreciate his enthusiasm, but most devs talk about things they want to implement and couldn't in interviews AFTER the game comes out!

He really does have that artist mentality, Roger Ebbert should talk to P.Mo.

Molyneux: Fable 3 Kinect features needed more development time

@FaerieTael

I think it's fair to say that you have a fair amount of nerd rage built up inside of you. And what have rare pumped out under Molyneaux's helm? He's a bag of hot air, ANYONE can talk about what they WANT to do! His leveling up speech was pure garbage, and made no sense plus All his years of broken promises plus the fact that he really hasn't created anything interesting since the first fable. I think it's time to do less talking and more rocking!

There's a difference between speaking your mind and making lofty empty promises about what you WANT or COULD do if the tech were there and you had infinite time. Basically anyone can dream, and his "visions" are better left for developer conferences than as promises to fans!

@Snap Count

I certainly do think we need people in the industry pushing boundaries, however I do not think that he is pushing a damn thing. The original fable was the last time that he pushed any kind of boundary. Soooooooo.........

@Scuffles

You truly are a moron if you think that the entire industry has a "ship now, fix later" mentality! Yes games like MW2 and other annual games are plagued by this, and whatever they need to fix sure as hell doesn't render them unplayable! You act as if the industry is just pumping out garbage as fast as it can. Think of all the glitches in older games that were never fixed, it's not due to a lack of caring. You largely do not know these issues exist because you built the game and therefore you know how it is supposed to be played. If you build a game you can't really objectively test it, so yes you do have to release it to the wild and hopefully you catch all the glitches in the beta, but not always the case. Red Dead Redemption was in development for like 5 years and they just released a patch the other day that fixed a litany of issues. Would you rather wait six more months for them to fix some minor issues? Yeah that's what I thought, ship now fix later! *facepalm*
