How to kill a flag carrier

Feb 2nd 2012 5:56PM (WoW)
I'd think Grant Fuhr and Andy Moog would be back at the base trying to defend, if you asked me.

Now, Ron Hextall... he woulda been off trying to recapture the flag.

Star Wars: The Old Republic hits a million players, 28 million hours played

"More than 2 billion NPCs have been killed in the eight days since launch as well, which is quite the virtual genocide."

An probably 1.5 billion of those are the rakghouls on Taris. Holy jeez I thought I'd never stop getting quests to kill those.

BlizzCon 2011 World of Warcraft Class Talent System liveblog

Oct 21st 2011 6:35PM (WoW)
I'm in the minority probably, but I'm concerned that this isn't really going to do anything to make specs less cookie-cutter... it's just giving less cookie to cut.

Guess I'll have to see how it plays out... but I just have a feeling the minmaxing theorycrafters will still determine that the Level 30 Talent B provides .X% more DPS than Talent A or Talent C, and thus that will be the "right choice".

Unfortunately, in a game like WoW, the only way to really make talents completely up to the user is to make them all do the same thing, but in our choice of designer colors. Aside from that, it'll be a month of the "wowness factor" of people trying out cool new stuff, then it'll just fall back into the rut of "This choice gives me .0003993 DPS more on this boss, I MUST HAVE IT."

Maybe I'm too pessimistic.

BioWare says gamers find it hard to go back to other MMOs after playing SWTOR

@Halldorr

I agree. Initial sales will not be an issue... nobody ever thought they would. Customer retention is what will tell the story.

Everyone was psyched about Star Wars Galaxies too... "OMG IT'S THE EQ GUYS BUT WITH STAR WARS! *drool*" .. look how that turned out.

I'll play it for the first month at least, but the visual style is a major turn-off for me. I didn't like the Clone Wars cartoon at all, so their art style is (in my opinion) a terrible choice.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: Paradigm slightly shifted

@Helghast102
If Squeenix wanted people to "play it for the game it is and not the name attached to it", then they would have called it something else, and not Final Fantasy.

There's over a dozen games in a the Final Fantasy franchise. One is bound to be the most disliked by fans. This is the one.

So Deep Wounds really isn't quite so... deep. Maybe they should rename it to Cat Scratches.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Patch 4.2 lurches towards us

For Warriors at least, Parry is slightly more desirable than Dodge anyways, because Parry will proc the Hold The Line talent.
