TGS 2009: Hands-on: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom vs. that guy from Dead Rising

If you look at picture 4 of 11 in the gallery you can see Niko Bellic is playing the role of Frank West in the game.

Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition exclusive to HMV in UK, GameStop in Ireland

I'm drawing the line at this Prestige Edition, and I'm somebody who bought the Legendary Halo 3 and the Amazon Exclusive Gears of War 2 Lancer! I'm sticking to the Hardened one because I want the original game on Arcade, plus the box art for that one is sick!

PSN release of Final Fantasy VII downloaded over 100,000 times

A remake would be cool I guess, but only if it had interesting gameplay changes like Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes did. I feel like that game was immensely improved by adding some of the MGS2 features and everything else it did. If they are just going to remake this game to the letter with better graphics then what's the point?

Shouldn't we be looking to actually create new and exciting things in the future and not looking back and literally rehashing past titles just because we thought they were great? In cinema, they don't remake great films unless they think there was something that could have been done better. Citizen Kane, The Godfather, all the classics remain untouched because they were ALREADY awesome. Adding 2009-era special effects wouldn't do anything to improve them, and adding 2009-era graphics to FFVII wouldn't improve that either.

Crackdown 2 situation one of those 'awkward moments' for Realtime creative director

Aww don't even act like Treyarch is a real developer anymore. All they've done recently is disgrace the Call of Duty name and muddy its reputation for quality titles.

Activision: Modern Warfare 2 set to eclipse previous Call of Duty games

Jun 10th 2009 11:16PM (Joystiq)
Ah, but World at War is clearly not numbered because it wasn't supposed to be a real entry in the series. It's really more of a CoD4 expansion that turned out worse than 4. It's like Call of Duty: United Offensive, which was a CoD1 expansion developed by a non-Infinity Ward dev. People who call WaW Call of Duty 5 are the dumbshits. Infinity Ward IS Call of Duty.

Activision: Modern Warfare 2 set to eclipse previous Call of Duty games

Jun 10th 2009 2:53AM (Joystiq)
It's clear why Call of Duty 5 (Modern Warfare 2, and no it's NOT 6) is not a Call of Duty game:

After the debacle that was Call of Duty 3 Activision put the next Treyarch Call of Duty Game under a subtitle instead of a true number. Then when Infinity Ward came around to do the real Call of Duty 5, the moderate success that was World at War (quality-wise at least) was going to look like a chump if Infinity Ward flatout disowned them like that, so Activision forced Call of Duty 5 to change its name to Modern Warfare 2 so they could try to act like their plan the whole time was to use the subtitles instead of the numbers. I remember when World at War was coming out Activision was using the excuse of, "Well, we're not calling it Call of Duty 5 because everyone who plays Cod4 calls it Modern Warfare instead of Call of Duty 4 name." Uhhh, I've never heard one person EVER call it 'Modern Warfare'. Ever. It's stupid and the worthless Treyarch should NOT be allowed to compromise the new real Call of Duty game!

See Gladiator A.D. in bloody action

While the animations themselves are filled with some nice personality they're pretty fucking stilted when switching from one attack to the next. Also that blood looks bad and the limbs want to come off too much. Meh. Let's see how it looks closer to Q1 2010.
