Portal 2, Arkham City and BF3 clean up at 2012 BAFTA game awards

I would have gone ape shit if any other game won sound design.. The overall quality and technical achievement -- purely on a sound level -- are outstanding..

Im quite surprised at how many people liked the trailer for R.E 6 and are disappointed at this news.

Survival horror - PS1/2- Great (though dwindled
action survival horror PS2 (RE4) Fantastic refresh
Action (Horror?). - PS3 - Too much take it back...

Dizzy scrambling to iOS and Android in December

I had never heard of it until Yahtzee starting referencing it as a "fantastic game".

I've failed as a British gamer haven't I?

Apple allows Big Fish to offer subscription-based gaming on iPad [Update: and then changes its mind]

@PR0F3TA

The article was about something being sold on an apple system. My post was criticism for something related to the topic. I also didn't mention any comparison or offer any praises for any other company. As far as I'm concerned, my post has no "fanboy" traits.

But a person springing in calling a person a fan-boy for a negative post about a company.. Could you tell me if there are any "fanboy" traits in that?

@InfernoShade

You might be confused on what I meant, I know all companies require a 30% sale fee, i'm talking about the stuff sold within the app. If you knew what I meant then:

No no, Google charges 30% only when their in app purchase system is used, this is to me fine, as it's a matter that directly concerns them. App makers are still allowed a web based link to a website where they can sign up for a subscription service.

Ironically, it was pretty big news when apple changed their Terms of Sale to stop subscription services or sign-ups.

While you mentioned Amazon, even their policies are scrutinised by the news sites I don't read. They have the power to sell any app at whatever price they want, why is this bad?? Well If they overcharge for the app you get 70% of the sale price, which is fine.. but if they choose to sell it for free, you get 20% of the list price, Harsh.

Who was I referring to when I mentioned people saying screw that? Notable "oh shit" moments for developers include --but are not limited to--. Spotify and Kindle book-store. Who all had to take out their ability to sell books and subscriptions simply because the app would have been banned without the 30% cut..

But in any case.. Apologies for offending you.

I think the ability to sell a subscription service has always been there with iOS. But Apple's ridiculous "you can't sell stuff within your app without apples 30% cut on every transaction rule".. People have just turned to apple and said... "screw that".

To be fair, I read the title and though "oh, I always thought it was Molyneux" only until I checked the twitter website did I realise I hadn't been corrected :p

Rockstar's Dan Houser still cold on 3D

The difference between stereo/7.1 and 2D/3D are not comparable. Mainly because the audio is used to emulate the environment much more effectively than a screen can. For example with audio you will be able to pricesly pinpoint the direction of a sound in reference to the on screen character, true 3D. Stereo will tell me either left or right, 7.1 will tell me 2 o'clock or 4 o'clock. With 3D visuals its a little different, you still need to be shown a window of direction at one time (you can't freely look around) and the extra dimension is only useful for showing if an object is closer to the window than another object, something we have been able to accurately guess even with 2D visuals.
