Age of Empires Online hits Steam

Mar 29th 2012 4:04AM (Joystiq)
Looks really fun, unfortunately I spent most of my play time trying to gain access through GFWL. It wouldn't let me play without a product key and told me to go to the marketplace to find one, but it just wouldn't load.
Tip for anyone else in the same situation, it generated a key for me when I just put all X's as the key. It'll fail, then auto-fill a new key in after... Go figure?

Hudson: 'Your feedback has always mattered' in Mass Effect 3, even now

I would have been satisfied with a good/bad ending combo, even if Shepard died in both. Instead, we get the same ending with different coloured explosions.
Nothing you did in the 80 hours of play through 3 games mattered! And on top of that, there is absolutely no closure and a ton of new plotholes and out-of-character behaviour from your teammates... Biggest disappointment ever.

No hope of playing this on a train journey, then...

MMO's ending for some people must bring the same reaction as a real-life news station broadcasting a giant comet is going to hit Earth and nothing can be done to save it.
One of the many reasons I avoid games like that. The other being the massive amounts of money you spend on them in the long run.

Origin adds seven more publishers, Alan Wake on the way

I'll make do with Steam for now, purely because I don't like the way there are different release platforms emerging for digital entertainment that all have exclusive content.

I should not have to have a dozen different accounts and a dozen different launchers running in the background. I know Steam are not much better than Origin when it comes to locking games to its own platform, but I stay with them purely because they got me first so all my games are already there.

Mass Effect 3 isn't launching on Steam, requires Origin

Piratebay time! Assuming it's still Origin-exclusive by the time I actually finish the second game on Steam.

Pulling the game off Steam couldn't have helped much...

EA to acquire PopCap Games for $750 million

I'm hoping people will just boycott all these Origin exclusives if they already have most of their games from other digital retailers. It's really unfair to expect consumers to pick sides like this.

EA's old download manager was absolutely terrible, it would never stay connected more than a few seconds for me, so I never did get to play my (free) Mass Effect 2 game.

Plus I have a rather large collection of games on Steam already so, any game that EA pulls off Steam, I'd be better off pirating (or not playing at all).

Now if only they would do this with Zork: Grand Inquisitor. That would be fantastic :D.
