FairUse4WM v1.3 Fix 2 promises Vista, Zune DRM stripping

Jul 17th 2007 11:05AM (Engadget)
Just tried it with some of my purchased Napster tracks and didn't have any problems :). Much more convenient than burning them to disc and ripping them again. Other than Napster I don't really know what this would be useful for but oh well. I'm not really much of an audiophile.

DS Daily: Phoenix Wright or Ouendan?

Totally unfair poll. Many readers won't have played Ouendan. It's clearly superior though.

I absolutely MUST get one of these! Or something similar... Anyone know of any cheap things like this on the market right now?

British PSPs to get voice and video calls courtesy of BT

PSP costs more than a phone capable of making phone calls I think you'll find. Most people have PC's anyway, even if they don't a VoIP phone would probably cost less than the attachment there.
Also consider than most people in the UK have their own mobile phones already. Add again that most people who use these WiFi points are going to be equipped with PDA's which are VoIP compatible anyway. Add once more that BT service includes a home-hub which has a built in VoIP phone anyway.
Aside from using it as a show-off item, this is pretty much entirely useless.
(LAST POINT, WiFi coverage isn't exactly great in the UK right now anyway.)

And this is superior to using a PC for VoIP or a real cell-phone, why?

DS Daily: Overrated

May 21st 2007 1:33PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Phoenix Wright, the game which is simply a "choose the right option" text adventure, would not really stand up to many novel releases as a story, and has pretty much no replay value what-so-ever... Yes, this game is severely over-rated.

"Widescreen" video watch touts 1.8-inch LCD

May 9th 2007 2:36PM (Engadget)
I have this in the 4gb flavor. Does exactly what it says it does and although the navigation is pretty horrific, the only real problem I have with it is that the screen only has two brightness settings, which are backlit and on, or completely off so nothing is displaying. To make it worse, it turns off the screen automatically after about 10 seconds of idleness and there don't seem to be any options to change that. For the price though, yeah it's a very impressive little gadget so, don't listen to all the negative comments from people who don't even own one.

PS3 price could drop $100 due to Blu-ray diode supply

Seriously, what's the point in making a product that you make a loss on? To me it just looks like they're showing off rather than being concerned with actual business.

Bring it down to a dollar per game, then we'll talk serious here.

Some Yoshi antics

Dec 3rd 2006 6:40AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
What I don't understand is, why are the visuals even worse than the old SNES original and the GBA remake? It looks as though someone went through a lot of trouble to remove any hint of graphical grace from the original, slightly altered the original levels and stuck it on a console that is capable of so much more. Bitterly disappoined. Watch Yoshi go up stairs and check the Piranha Plants. Ugly.
