Planet Pachinko dropping into WiiWare this Monday

Jan 12th 2009 7:02PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Aw, I wanted a Pachinko game! >:-( I saw this on the Wii Shop Channel and got excited that I would be able to finally play pachinko again after all these years. I guess I'll just have to buy an actual Pachinko game or something, since I can't find a virtual version ANYWHERE. (If anyone knows of one, a reply would be nice.)

Wii Warm Up: Virtual Console plus

Dec 4th 2008 6:23PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Actually, (at least in the case of MM9) the Wii version has everything the other versions do (Achievements, DLC, Online Leaderboards), and has better graphics (360 and PS3 make MM9 look blurry and ruin the 8-bit graphics).

Oh, and about the actual topic, I think that online leaderboards would be nice for games that are actually score based (Could you imagine an SMB leaderboard?!), and online multiplayer has been a feature in so many emulators nowadays that there's no reason not to have it. Wii Warm Up: Worn around the edges

I always buy used games whenever possible. Even if the difference is only $5 dollars, if the game plays then that's $5 I can now spend on a VC NES game or something. Plus, when you buy used at GameStop/EB Games, you can return the game if it sucks or if you beat it in under a week due to the no-reason-required one-week return policy. Horray for not having to live with the purchase of a crappy game!!!

First Mega Man 9 DLC now on WiiWare, coming this week to XBLA/PSN

Oct 6th 2008 5:21PM (Joystiq)
I don't see why everyone is complaining about the downloadable content. When you add up the total cost of MM9 and all of the DLC, you get $18. I don't know about you guys, but I would say that $18 is a reasonable price for a full new Mega Man game with 3 difficulty modes, Proto Man as a playable character, time trials (with a level that's not in the main game and online leaderboards), and an endless level (also with online leaderboards). But the great thing about having some things as DLC is that you don't have to pay for some features if you don't want them.

Oh, and @zero2dash: Capcom didn't just copy and paste old Mega Man sprites and music! They made a brand new game, with plenty of new enemies and a great new 8-bit soundtrack alongside some great level design and quite a few innovations. How is that a "simple plug-and-play cash-in"?!

Crazy Taxi: Double Punch is crazy, out August in Japan

It has a different soundtrack BUT you can play your own music in-game so you could just download the songs from the original soundtrack and play them to pretend it has the original soundtrack. Or you could play other, possibly better music instead.
