I couldn't agree more. That's also why I loved Star Wars: Galaxies so much, even with the wings and Ewok familiars (that never bothered me personally). Yes, you could create pink cyborg Jedi Wookies. But that kind of diversity helped everyone feel unique. Compare that to Stormwind a few months into an expansion with everyone looking exactly the same (even if Transmogrification probably has helped with that, haven't played since early Cata).

There was a bounty system in SWG up until the sunsetting. Not sure if they took it out at the NGE, but if they did they put it in again at some point afterwards.

Trion have also spoken out against SOPA. Time to scratch more names!

@Abriael Not really. Do you play EVE? Not only was the CQ environment a resource hog, CCP also took out a lot of functionality when removing ship spinning. Those two together make up what the complaints were mostly about. They caved because the people complaining had a point.

In before the trolls that will only rub this in the face of the current player base. This truly and really sucks. While my guild will move on to TOR, I will miss our guild city. Here's to you, Prometheus (Lok, Farstar). You've been our home for years and it looks like no other game will ever give us the tools to recreate you (unless Archage delivers the goods).

The diplomacy system in VG rocks. Great way of telling stories. It did have some issues in the "epic" diplomacy lines, which all ended in the same place and with the same quests (so you had to do the ending four times to get all the diplo gear), but I guess that could have been something they would have addressed at some point if there were actually any development money in Vanguard.

I usually don't want games I enjoy to go F2P, but I guess in VG's case it might actually be a good idea to at least bring in some people. Or turn it freemium somehow.

While I'm not happy about some of the cash store items, you can still revive at the location of your "death" once a hour without paying anything. You can buy items that will remove the one hour cooldown, IIRC, but the revive-function is still there and very much free for VIPs.

Agreed on the perpetual billboard feeling though. I hate getting the advertisements thrown in my face every time I log in. I understand why they'd do it for free players, but as a VIP I'd prefer to get an ordinary loading screen. They already got my money, after all.
