I would be scared as f--k to be chased by one of those!

I think the reaction of the man who lost out on the Shelby would be pretty realistic. A lot of people (especially people who scab tickets, I imagine) would be too proud to show their immense amount of regret at disappointment in such a public venue.
It's mostly like a means of coping with the loss for such a petty gain (by comparison).

He's probably in his room crying himself to sleep right now. :P

Nation's first public quick-charge station opens up in Portland, OR [w/video]

Where I understand completely that one, single charging station throughout the entire United States is no good for anyone outside of X miles from the station, I would assume that those who purchase EVs aren't planning on many cross-country roadtrips.

Driving an EV long-distance (today) is like being 300 lbs. and deciding it'd be a good idea to run the 25k marathon next week.

Not to mention, you have to start sometime.
It's not like we've always had as many gas stations as we do today.

"They'll forget to charge the damn things, or leave for a "quick trip" and end up stuck on the side of the road."

That's exactly like forgetting to put gas in your car, unless ofcourse, YOUR car runs on perpetual energy, in which case I apologize.
