What Nintendo game system prior to the Wii cost more than $200 before taxes?

I remember when you could buy a new Nintendo system for $200. Now it looks like you will be paying $200 just for the controller for this system.

Can I get Peter Frampton's talk box? No crappy auto-tune for me.

I just saw a used copy of Twighlight Princes at Game Stop for over $40.

I think it is too soon to release a new system. Yes I know the Wii has reached it's 5 year life expectancy, but they are still selling the system at 80% of it's original cost and at the full cost of their previous systems. The fact that we are still waiting for the release of it's first Zelda game that wasn't released on it's previous system shows how much work they could do with the current system.

I think the 3DS was released too soon at a cost too high. I have a feeling we would have the same problem with the next system would bee too soon and too expensive.

As for disk capacity, I have heard that it is possible to get about 25G with regular DVD laser technology. Just because Blu-ray ha won the HD TV format war doesn't mean we have have to use it for every type of storage format. Using a different storage format makes it more difficult for piratesy.

When I bought my DS, I paid $150 for it. With that price it also came with a demo of Metroid.

A while back I remember reading that Nintendo was working on the Game Boy Advance long before they thought of the Game Boy Color, but it was found to be too expensive at the time. The Game Boy Color was made to buy time while they were working on reducing the manufacturing cost of the Game Boy Advance.

In my opinion the Wii was too expensive at launch, and the DSi was too expensive at launch.

It is interesting that even though cars are being made from lighter materials they are still gaining weight. I find it strange that my huge Cadillac weights less than many of the smaller cars of today.
