May 4th 2011 12:27AM (Joystiq)I think the 3DS was released too soon at a cost too high. I have a feeling we would have the same problem with the next system would bee too soon and too expensive.
As for disk capacity, I have heard that it is possible to get about 25G with regular DVD laser technology. Just because Blu-ray ha won the HD TV format war doesn't mean we have have to use it for every type of storage format. Using a different storage format makes it more difficult for piratesy.

Apr 27th 2011 1:25AM (Joystiq)A while back I remember reading that Nintendo was working on the Game Boy Advance long before they thought of the Game Boy Color, but it was found to be too expensive at the time. The Game Boy Color was made to buy time while they were working on reducing the manufacturing cost of the Game Boy Advance.
In my opinion the Wii was too expensive at launch, and the DSi was too expensive at launch.
