I think/hope by toning down the stunts they mean the stuff that in last couple series was too obviously staged. Stuff like the caravan fire, James' "gift" Dacia Sandero getting backed into by a conveniently placed big rig, or Jeremey catching an exhaust shot paintball in the "plums".
I mean we all know the show is scripted, but they're trying a bit too hard to have ridiculous things happen and watching them pretend that something planned out was spontaneous, became a bit painful.
Ok, I know it's not fair to do a direct translation from UK car prices to US dollars because of taxes and differing markets and whatnot, but seriously $57,000 for a tarted up Civic? Methinks I'd take a Scirocco R for well more than $10K less.
You seem to be thinking this video is something it isn't.
Leno isn't an auto journalist and his videos aren't intended as car reviews. His website and videos are just about appreciating the cars - that's all. They're not about going over the negatives, they're about "here's the car, here's what I like about it, here's what it looks and sounds like".
What is it with Japanese game design and fishing mini-games? Why are they so prevalent? Do Japanese gamers actually enjoy these time and time again? Or is this just another example of them carrying on game-design out of some misplaced sense of tradition - what was fun then must still be fun now?
I just don't get it. Okami is my favorite PS2 game of all time, and it's fishing game was nothing as bad as this, but it was still the least interesting part of the game in my opinion. Virtual fishing just isn't my idea of fun.
If you mean that literally, you couldn't be more wrong The tC shares almost no underpinnings with the Celica other than some basic component parts. The tC is based on the chassis of the Avensis, a Europe only Toyota sedan - and it's engine is from the Camry.
Figuritivly, it does occupy the same basic place in the market as the Celica did, but it is far from being "the same car underneath"
Yeah they're actually fairly significantly upgraded over a stock TC.
They have the TRD supercharger as well as stainless exhaust and headers. Then they run them on 100 octane, so they make around 215HP. Beyond that they have a racing clutch, limited slip diff, racing suspension and brakes.
So they're not just safety modded - but a lot of the upgrades are TRD parts that the average Joe can get through a Scion/Toyota dealer - though they'd easily add $10K to the price of the little coupe.
Yeah as a current owner of a tC (which I will be very shortly trading in towards a 2010 GTI *woot*), I must say I don't care for the redesign at all.
Front is ok, but that roofline is horrible. It looks like they're trying to ape the Camaro or Challanger and a muscle car flat roof just doesn't work on a little coupe like the tC. The back end was also ruined too. Quite a shame as I thought the back end of the tC, though simple, (when not mucked up by a spoiler of any kind) was rather nice.
