Chronicles of Riddick picked up by Atari, now has brand new campaign
Dec 2nd 2008 2:56PM (Joystiq Xbox)Former Harmonix developer shoots down PS3 tech in rant
Oct 31st 2007 12:19AM (Joystiq Playstation)First of all I own all three systems, matter of fact I own 27 systems total.
As a game designer me and my company wants to make lots of money, so making a good quality game from the ground up takes us two years to make for the 360, but that same game to make for the Ps3 takes us 2 1/2 to 3 years. So in 10 years I can make 5 games for the 360, but on the ps3 I may only get 3-4 games. This is the reason that I would port games from one system to another. So I don't understand when some people say a good game takes time, why would you want to spend a lot of time and money on a game for a system that is not selling well? And the number one reason why the ps3 isnt selling well. It's because, its a beta-ray player first, then it is a game player. You can thank Sony for that.
Unreal Tournament 3 to be timed PS3 exclusive
Jul 11th 2007 9:22PM (Joystiq Xbox)And that is Halo 3.
UT3 would have interfered with Halo(maybe a little).
Come next year, M$ will benifit from UT3 after selling a shit load of consoles because of Halo.
Chatpad Messenger Kit will cost $30 [update 1]
Jul 11th 2007 3:44PM (Joystiq Xbox)I can buy a regular USB keyboard $4.
Why does this add on have to cost $30. That is crazy and BS for M$ to ask for that much. They probably only pay $3 to make it. All the input is done by the controller, this thing has no sophisticated electroncis in it at all. They could of left the headset port the same as the old one. Guess they want you to feel you are getting a deal by giving us another damn headset. If it is a wireless headset then yes, it would be a deal.
M$ is asking way too much!
New 360 warranty: is it enough?
Jul 5th 2007 9:03PM (Joystiq Xbox)If there is 1.5 million bad units out there, half of them has been opened by there owners trying to repair them and telling M$ to go to hell with asking for $140. Of course the owners could'nt fix it and they voided the waranty by removing the void sticker. So now you can't send it in for repair under the waranty.
How do you void the waranty of something if the waranty does not exist yet?
This is good news for some(mostly future buyers), most fustrated people were the ones who felt M$ did them wrong and decided to find alternative methods(cheaper) to repair there systems, that still don't work. Way to go M$!
Micromart won't repair three red light 360s
Jun 28th 2007 4:09PM (Joystiq Xbox)This is a shame, a goddamn terrible shame! No other video game system had this type of hardware failure that the manufacturer does not even no what the problem is. The only thing that comes close is the pos2 and Sony intentionally made the hardware fail(data read error) for job security or to continue the money flowing. I hated Sony for that! But, I made alot of money from it.
Over the course of time I've collected 27 different video game systems and they all work including my 360. But what makes me feel bad is when some poor sap buys a $60 game to only come home and play it and it breaks there $400 system. Thats wrong!
At first M$ was collecting $140 to repair these systems( I think they wanted to do the Sony thing), then they got overwhelmed with too many bad systems and could'nt justify charging people anymore, so they extended the warranty. I think this hardware failure was intentional for job security, but something went wrong and it is backfireing on M$.

Jun 27th 2007 11:47AM (Joystiq Xbox)I can't wait, my favorite fighter of all time. Blows DOA out of the water.
It's the CPU key that prevents 360 modding
Jun 25th 2007 2:52PM (Joystiq Xbox)I like and own alot of 360 games but I dont have the time to play them much. Its knowing what I can do with the 360 that excites me and makes me luv this system.

Jun 25th 2007 1:00PM (Joystiq Xbox)Riddick Remake coming from Starbreeze
May 19th 2007 11:20AM (Joystiq Xbox)Was hoping for backward compatability for the 360, but I assumed it would have taken a great deal more work than the average game. So M$ said skip it and decided to let Starbreeze do the work and get paid for it since it is a release.
Besides for uping the resolution, the game is already next gen as far as I am concerned. But, if they remake I would hope they add a lot more content for guys like me who already beaten the game several times.
