Amen. I don't care how old the guy is - he has achieved much during his life. Why wait until someone is dead or nearly dead to recognize them? Kojima could quit game designing tomorrow, but would that detract from all that he has accomplished?

Your argument is absurd. It's all about price and marketing. The Wii to the family oriented crowd (my, there are lots and lots of families out there!) The 360 to the Mountain Deweys (hello dormitories and adolescents everywhere!) and the PS3 to... to... hmm, what was Sony's marketing plan again?
