Wow, that's quite a statement, sir! I appreciate your comments. You write quite well and bring up excellent points.

But you really hit the nail on the head; no one wants a company to focus solely on shovelware games just because money can be made. Perhaps that will factor into our definition: if a smaller company like WayForward or TwoTribes makes shovelware, we should cut them a break since they need to pay the bills. Yet if EA or Rockstar starts pumping out nothing but shovelware, then we have a right to be very critical.

Yeah, I knew this would come up. I tried to stick with games that were directly tied to an at-the-time current movie or TV series (though I guess you could argue that Goldeneye came two years or so after the movie). The SNES games based on the OT were pretty good, but I'd still say the 5 games on the list outweigh them. There are a surprising amount of good licensed games that just barely got squeezed out: the original Batman for the NES and the Spiderman series for GCN come to mind. It's an unfortunate part about having a list of 5: some don't always make the cut. :(

I'm with you on that one. I was surprised at how awesome The Simpsons: Hit & Run was. It's without a doubt the best Simpsons game ever (which isn't a terribly prestigious award). If the list was a Top 10, I could see it sneaking its way in.

Yeah ... this isn't quite the place to talk about human rights, but that just seems obscene. I know there's even worse situations out there and you can't always directly fault a company for that, but it's worth keeping in mind.

And yes, you're correct. We should name that law ... how does "Matias' First Law of Shovelware" sound? :)

How could you forget? Not only is he your friend, but he's apparently a *whole lot more*! :P
