Wii U's WiiPad controller resolution estimated at 854x480

@MaxVest

You're more informative than Joystiq! (And the internet as a whole I suppose, since you were the first helpful Google result for 'wiipad pixels per inch.')

Wii U currently only supports one WiiPad

My own opinion is that the one controller limitation doesn't have to be a limitation at all if developers approach multiplayer components in their game well. If the game has a fun way to get the WiiPad being passed around and players have different roles in the gameplay depending on the remote they're holding, really fun social gaming experiences can still be crafted.

What would be disastrous though, and will no doubt happen at least in some games, is the Wii Remote holders just getting a dumbed-down experience of the action.

Halo: Reach stats and upcoming tweaks outlined by Bungie

@Babu Yagu

Well, I think you're half-right. A lot of people, especially when throwing grenades, should be more careful. At the same time though, it's possible to mis-throw a grenade, mis-shoot a rocket, etc. in the heat of battle and kill a teammate every once and awhile; getting banned for this isn't really fair.

Path of Exile preview: Diablo set free

Could Diablo II 2.0 be better than Diablo III?

Well, it is free.

The whole things sounds down-right awesome.

Halo Waypoint refreshed for Reach release

@Stevorino

Bungie's made a bold step--let the player create their own Spartan. It's a cool concept in theory, but I'm not sure how successful it will be narrative-wise in the campaign. Besides, Noble 6 actually delivers lines, so there's a definite disconnect between recreating yourself as a Spartan but having 0 input into the narrative. In the post-Mass Effect world, it doesn't make sense.

But on the multiplayer-side, it could end up being a step in the right direction.

Anyway, this is Bungie's legitimate attempt at expanding the Halo universe past Master Chief. Considering 343 is going to zoom it right back into MC makes the whole exercise a failure before it even begins in a way, but it's Bungie's call to make.

Or, since we are talking about public interest here, it means you're wrong.

WRUP: Almost reaching the Halo: Reach beta edition

I'll be studying for finals coming up this week in a desperate attempt to clear more time for the Reach beta when it hits on Monday.

Reach--the first video game to ever get me to act proactively.

Welcome to video games.

(Relative to other games and game universes though, I would say Halo is pretty original.)

Gears 2 slides further down Xbox Live activity chart

Dec 17th 2008 1:11PM (Joystiq)
Am I the only one that had Gears 1-like lag problems in Gears 2? It's a little better, but when I have alternatives like Halo 3 and CoD 4 that are, for practical purposes, virtually lag-free, why bother with Gears 2?

My roommates and I still have fun slaughtering bots in Annex and playing Horde every once and awhile though.
