Swag Sunday: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Wii) [update]

Feb 14th 2010 8:38PM (Joystiq)
I would name my airship Cthulhu.

Basically, when I'm put at the wheel of anything, it's trouble, and if you add in the complexities of the airship, I'm as dangerous as any unspeakable horror from beyond.

Little Burger King's promotion for Little King's Story

Aug 23rd 2009 6:24PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I spent some time in Japan. I traveled all around the country.

I saw McDonald's like crazy, Wendy's often, and Subway in Tokyo. Never saw a Burger King.

When my friend moved here from Japan, she asked what made Burger King different from McDonald's, as she had never seen one there.

Therefore, I must assume that they are not common at all, and this is to be taken as a minor promotion at a minor food chain.

McCartney's replica Rock Band bass looks awesome, backwards

May 12th 2009 12:58PM (Joystiq)
I'm sorry, this version is completely acceptable.

Left-handed guitars and basses were very expensive when the Beatles started, and they weren't exactly swimming in money at Liverpool.

Paul played a right-handed bass upside down. Don't be criticizing unless you have your facts straight, Joystiq.

And it's not like that was uncommon, either. Know who else played a right-hand guitar upside down? Name Jimi Hendrix ring a bell? I think Dick Dale did as well, and I'm just trying to think of super huge names.

We over at Sprite Stitch (http://www.spritestitch.com) have several good resources linked easy on the right hand side, and everyone seems to be great to answer to requests in the forums as well!

Tabula Rasa shutting down on Feb. 28

Nov 21st 2008 5:47PM (Joystiq)
I bought the game on launch day, collector edition and all, and then a second copy for my husband so we could play together...it was honestly a solid game that got a bad rap at first. But then they tried to patch it all to hell to make it appeal to everyone and THAT was when I felt that I might have wasted my money. I got a good six months out of it, and that's more than a lot of other games that I have paid just as much for.

Joyswag: Video Games Live album

I think my vote would be for the Millennium Fair theme from Chrono Trigger or the Casino level theme from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

You're not good enough for Ubisoft's Hell's Kitchen game

Jul 10th 2008 3:09PM (Joystiq)
I have already played through this game for PC...and unless they add some sort of content, don't waste your time. I played through it in about 4 hours, beginning to end...and that's getting the maximum 5 stars on every mission (there were only 6 missions I didn't get 5 stars on THE FIRST TIME THROUGH).

You have seven days (I think) of maybe 5 missions a piece where you have to make items with "ingredients" and serve them. Problem is, there's only 6 "ingredients"...poultry, meat, seafood, veggies, starches, and dairy. So no seperation for pork from beef or carrots from celery, in other words. Pathetic.

Kart around NYC with free Mario cab rides this Thursday

Yeah, too bad this Thursday is the 24th, not the 22nd...so is it tonight or Thursday?

Unfortunately, although I can see comments fine, asking us whether or not we can see comments is rather pointless, as you will not be able to see our responses.

Wii Warm Up: What's in a name?

Jul 13th 2007 1:18PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I always leave Link as is, and I've played through Earthbound over 30 times, and I've only not used the default names twice (and one of those was the second set of default names...)

It's amazing how the original name for something sticks with you though, the first Harvest Moon game named the boy Jack in the instruction manual, and all my boys have been Jack in Harvest Moon since then (and most times, the girls are Jill...)

Pokemon is the breaker though, if I make a boy he has a good chance of being Ash, but if I actually play as a girl I use my real name. My husband, on the other hand, uses a version of his nickname for every game he could ever put a name in on.
