12 Days of Joyswag: A Fallout: New Vegas neon sign (yeah, f'real)

Because my walls are bare, and this is pretty awesome.

Hands-on with the new Xbox 360 controller with transforming D-pad

Uh, that was the oddest, most awkward video I've seen in a while.

Ask Engadget: best FM transmitter out there?

@uzerzero This sounds interesting, where would I be able to find this once you are done?

Ask Engadget: best FM transmitter out there?

Just remember that the "autoscan" features of those things really suck. Save yourself the time and go to http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/vacant and type in your zip code and trust that. I've used three different FM transmitters and they all seemed to just pick a station at random, sometimes even picking some of the most popular and powerful stations in the area.

iPhone 4 unlock available now (update: video!)

@Oxyrt Not using the jailbreak won't save you from the exploit. Jailbreakme uses the exploit to get access to your phone and jailbreak it. Someone else with enough knowledge could use the same exploit and instead of jailbreak the phone, steal your info or do other harm.

I remember back when a similar exploit was used in the 1.x days, the jailbreak actually patched the hole as well so it couldn't be used again once you jailbroke. Didn't happen for this one, though.

SimCity torn down, available now as SimCity Deluxe on iPhone

Looks good, but I don't understand why they removed the original version? Doesn't seem to make sense.

Apple starts refunding Bumper purchases automagically

@Hydra Where do you get your information from? During the keynote, Jobs said that they are giving themselves until that date to see if they can figure out a better solution.

BlindType vows to autocorrect all wrongs with your iPhone or Android virtual keyboard (video)

@Vlad Savov Just saw your update, and while I'm happy that they want it to take over the default keyboard, I really don't see Apple letting that happen. Hopefully that means they are open to releasing it on Cydia, however.

BlindType vows to autocorrect all wrongs with your iPhone or Android virtual keyboard (video)

@Steve B They could if it was a jailbreak app (this is the very type of app that should be sold on Cydia), but there would probably be compatibility issues with moving the keyboard everywhere like that. They could definitely have the corrective typing working, though.

Unfortunately, the most likely option is that this will just be a standalone app that will be submitted to the app store, so to use it you'd have to open the app, use it to type, then copy, quit, open the app you want, and paste. I'll be hoping for the jailbreak app, though.

Windows Live Essentials beta is ready for your downloading delight

Jun 24th 2010 8:22PM (Engadget)
@CodeRed Alright, took another look and to the right of the Download Now button, there is a link where you can download an installer that lets you choose what you'd like to install. I wish this was the default, or at the very least, more discoverable.
