Bang your head to the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock 'Act 1' set list

Jul 8th 2010 10:55PM (Joystiq)
Sounds solid so far. Personally I think my favorite setlist of any of these games so far has been Guitar Hero 5. It was just such a nice mix of stuff, even though most people seem to think it was "teh suk" for not being 84 number 1 hits.

I think what I hate most about these games is EVERY time a setlist is revealed leading up to the release of the game, it brings to the surface every annoying little worm who thinks their taste is the end all be all of music. Blaaaaarg.

@kewlrats

There's something very wrong with you if you're playing Guitar Hero for the story...

Sorry for any confusion on that.

Terrible name. It sounds like a bizarre crossover of Dead Rising and Golden Sun, sponsored by a new laundry detergent.

All this move/Kinect crap keeps me hopeful that MAYBE Konami will bring back DDR in this new trend of hotness, and the franchise can be reborn.

'Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock' coming this holiday, according to Amazon.com listing

May 25th 2010 1:39PM (Joystiq)
That's exactly what I'm thinking. I understand the idea of dropping the number at a certain point, to help consumers forget that they've been playing the same game for so long. It worked well for Call of Duty, but I think Guitar Hero/Rock Band are 2 titles that really need those numbers so people know they're actually part of the main series. Just putting a subtitle makes it look like a spin off, which could deter people who want the main titles with their more diverse set lists. Hell, look at all the spinoffs. None of them have really matched the main games in sales, except for Beatles doing a little better than RB2/GH5.

I know if I didn't pay attention until they were in the store, I'd probably see this and go "Ew, it's an all metal GH. I'll pass." "Warriors of Rock" just had a metal/hard rock kind of ring to it.
