Gameforge lays off 100, Star Trek: Infinite Space looking shaky

Nov 4th 2011 8:39AM (Joystiq)
"Star Trek: Infinite Space"

Infinite Space already came out, and it was good.

Though that is one generic name, so I'm not surprised more than one game would use it.

Leaked Soulcalibur 5 screen shows mysterious character (and it's not Ezio)

@Shadowbender
That's debatable. That those games marked a mechanics and fluidity departure from 1 and 2, however, is not. Is it a good or bad thing? Opinions.

Saints Row: The Third trailer mocks the big boys

I'm pretty sure this guy is joking and not trolling. I guess we've been on the computer too long to discern, huh?

Also, jokes and sarcasm do not need to be marked with "/s"

The bloody corporate future of Syndicate

@whylekat
While this doesn't apply to The Syndicate (it wasn't an extremely faced paced game originally) many games (fps especially) actually move more SLOWLY than older ones. "Modern Shooter ##" usually involves slower movement and shooting than games like Quake, UT, the original Deus Ex, and more recently CS:S.

You're probably better off not knowing.

TGS 2011's shopping area, in (too many) pictures

@serge808

That doesn't make any sense. That like saying if Sony stopped making laptops, their televisions or games would be better.

Different divisions do different things. No time is wasted, and it would be foolish to pull resources from popular figure lines to bloat the budget of a game with minimal increase in quality and a likely decrease in retained earnings.

Dante takes on the surrealist carnival in latest DMC trailer

@pluupy

I would be even angrier. Nothing can forgive these horrendous trailers and the seemingly poorly designed combat system. I don't want DMC3 Dante look, I want DMC3 Dante FEEL.

Because the gameplay has shown only bits and pieces, I'll hold any sort of final judgment (can't finally judge a game pre-release anyway), but the parts shown do not give me any reason to expect STYLISH (read: jump cancels, free-form comboing, fast input rate) combat.

Hero's Adventure will shake your RPG faith to its core in three minutes

@Lxg

That joke was pretty obvious actually, and it was hammered into your head after the dialogue with the parents.

Hero's Adventure will shake your RPG faith to its core in three minutes

@Cleaver

Brilliant isn't really the word I'd use to describe a joke that has been wandering around gaming for ages. As soon as I saw the rat I thought "In RPGs we always kill innocuous animals." When I set fire to the rabbit, "Oh, that's the joke." Certainly it was well executed, but "brilliant" is hyperbolic.

Devil May Cry preview: From black to white

@Faceless Troll

While the mechanics may not suck, they certainly aren't the old DMC mechanics where airtime was the privilege of those well-versed in the combat mechanics and not a right granted unto every gamer who passed a glance at the box cover.
