Student-developed DS games available in Japan

Mar 13th 2007 7:09PM (Joystiq)
You could buy an inexpensive flash cart solution and just download them from the net. You can get one for the price of two DS games, and since these student demos are being released freely you don't have to worry about being a pirate.

Props to Nintendo for taking steps to embrace the indie crowd. As much as they hate to admit it, the games industry would fail without them.

EA publishing next Harmonix game

Mar 7th 2007 7:12PM (Joystiq)
I will be hesitant to buy it from EA. I understand that Harmonix is the developer, but they work for EA here and they do what they're told. Typically, that seems to be "Don't worry about making it fun, worry about making it fast and making it sell."

I've played lots of fun EA games but I often abandon them due to bugs or oversights that range from irritating to game crippling. I always think "Well, this game will HAVE to be good. I'll fork over a few dollars for that, and maybe EA will make more quality titles like it." Then I'm sorely disappointed with the product and do my annual swearing off EA again.

Halo theme could join Guitar Hero II set list

Abysmal recording. Am I the only one who hates it? Sorry Stevie, but I just can't dig. Loved Halo, spent a decade with my guitar, but I always thought the remix sounded dry, empty, and uninspired. I sort of liked the OG, though.

Oh my god, are you serious? You're seriously talking about inventing the PC. Seriously. Seriously?

Wow. Just wow.

DS Daily: How about EA?

Feb 6th 2007 8:18PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Even if I trust the developers creating the game, I don't trust EA to give them the time and resources they need to make it a quality title.

Also, if I'm buying the title for online play and it says EA on the box, then I put the box back on the shelf and my money back in my wallet. I don't pay full price for a game only to wait barely a year before they yank support. Or for them to decide that I need to buy an expansion if I want the new BFG everyone else is killing me with.

I don't love to hate EA. I just hate them.

Wii used as 'porn gateway', hilarity ensues

So let them look at porn. They need to learn this stuff.

EA porting another geriatric sim to DS

The EA we have today is not the EA we had over ten years ago.

It's so catchy! (Wii delight #003)

It's video golf music. I hate video golf music. The only thing worse than video golf music is video poker music.

Analyst 84 wags finger at analyst 83, says PS3 will win

Jul 27th 2006 11:48PM (Joystiq)
Did anyone think about buying both? Or am I the only one who's actually going to do that?

Wait, once I buy one does it come with a contract that says I'm not allowed to buy the other? Did I miss that?
