Breakfast Topic: Dialing back your game

Not at ALL. If anything I'm looking forward to spending MORE time with WoW. As TBC has progressed I have spent less and less time playing WoW. I still raid 5-6 nights a week and am currently working on downing Muru. However, other than raiding and spending an hour or two each night preparing for the raid, I don't spend much time playing WoW. There is simply nothing to do other than daily quests and farming when I'm not raiding.

I kind of put PVP aside in TBC to spend more time raiding. I rerolled a Shaman late last year so with him it was basically one or the other. I like PVP but without a good res set there isn't much point. Grind out a set from BGs you say? Well for the past few months there hasn't been much point, I'd rather just wait until Wrath to PVP.

So you see, other than raiding I don't spend much time in WoW. I am very much looking forward to spending as much time as possible leveling, questing, instancing, and raiding in Wrath. PVP will be a part of that too but I am primarily a raiding focused player.

Warhammer Online open beta starts Sept. 7

A game with less than 1/20th the subscribers of WoW usually has 1/20th the amount of content.

"Beating" WoW is about more than just subscriber numbers. I agree that a game does not need to come CLOSE to 11 million subscribers to be successful and FUN. However, there are other obstacles put in place by WoW that games DO have to surmount to be successful AND fun. Content and "polish" are the two biggest obstacles in my eyes. Since WoW has been out for a few years now it not only has received tons of content updates but the game as a whole has been balanced, rounded out, and polished.

When you look at nearly any MMO at launch (including WoW)it is usually very buggy, full of network problems, and lacking in real end game content. It's really not acceptable to release an MMO in this condition anymore. Why should a typical MMO player play MMO-X that is full of bugs and devoid of content when they could continue playing WoW, a game they have already invested dozens (if not hundreds) of hours into and stay in a rich community they have ties to already?

Lets not forget the average MMO player today is NOT a typical hardcore gamer who can look past bugs and other issues (or knows how to avoid them). Content and game play aside I think community is another hurdle that MMO designers have to overcome when making their game. They have come up with programs such as "guild betas" and "guild transfers" and other incentives to get entire guilds to transfer but in all likelihood that isn't going to happen for most people. They need to come up with a way to entice people to leave their current community and friends for a new one.

Anyway, Warhammer is a pretty good game but due to NDA I can't say much more than that. I do think that Warhammer has these same obstacles to overcome, even more so with the impending release of WotLK soon after WAR's launch.

Amazon clarifies some Gears of War 2 Lancer details

You are retarded. It's not a "toy" and there is no law that says you have to have orange caps on toy guns. Toy companies do it to avoid law suits. Police don't just shoot people that have guns either, even real guns. Has it happened before? Yes, but people get arrested every single day with firearms in their possession and don't get shot.

So if you are stupid enough to point a fake gun and police and not drop it when they tell you to, then the world is better off without you. So orange caps = fail.

Trade in your worn-out gun for a shiny new computer

To whom ever said that guns are 100 percent illegal in mexico, you couldn't be more wrong. Mexico's constituion presents the right to bear arms, to be specific pistols .38 caliber revolver, .380 auto or smaller, shotguns 12-gauge or smaller (no sawed of shotguns barrel must be 25" or longer)and any bolt action or semi auto rifle up to .30 caliber. If you don't beleive me go look it up or read a book. Next time make sure you know what your talking about BEFORE you post something as being a fact, and please if you are going to smack a 100% label on something give us some information to back up your statement. I'm not out to correct everyone on the internet but I see a lot of people talking here like mexico is some kind of third world country and it is not. It saddens me to see how ignorant the people of the supposed richest, smartest, and most advanced nation in the world can be. Please go read a book or even something on the internet (I say that cautiously) and remember that not only americans are reading the internet, so let's try and do a better job of being respectful and acting educated and civilized. Instead of taking what you have for granted and making jokes about what other countries lack, why not use what you have for your advantage and show the rest of the world that we are not a bunch of ignorant, prejudice, Americans who only care about themselves.
