Hard drive prices have fallen dramatically in the last coupe years for everyone else EXCEPT Microsoft. Perhaps MS was never told that you can get a 2.5" SATA Internal HDD for under a $100.

Hmmm, lets see...I can get a 120GB HDD for $120+ that I can only use with one machine

I can get a 500GB HDD for UNDER $100 that I can use in almost any computer and the "other" console that plays games in HD.

Think about this, what kind of backlash would Sony get it this were true? So the 24+ million PS3 owners would be at a disadvantage over the brand new owners of the unreleased Slim?

I cannot believe that this kind of NONsense gets posted on Joystiq and other places. Consoles are (say it with me know CLOSED SYSTEMS) the idea of a console is to have an even playing field for all developers to make games knowing the SAME specs will be in every console.

Never before has Sony made the hardware faster in a console. Yes the PSP was made faster, but the speed was there...Sony just did not unlock it until they could get battery consumption down.

Yes it is smaller, yes it uses less power, and it is more efficient and cheaper to produce.
