October NPD: NBA 2K11 tops charts, Xbox 360 'best selling console in 2010'

Nov 17th 2010 8:15AM (Joystiq)
Times and the economy have changed the mindset of the consumer. Gt5 will probably be a very good game but I have a strong feeling that it will not single-handedly move consoles in big numbers. And for the poster that used Amazon's preorder numbers to argue gt5's popularity you need to remember that Amazon uses cart numbers to determine popularity percentages. The reason why those numbers jumped was because people placed the game in their cart. Many if them may or may not have purchased it. Furthermore, many of those same people could have cancelled their preorders once it was announced as being delayed and this would also not be reflected in Amazons sales numbers. Not to mention Amazon is just one entity. If numbers for other stores and retail chains are similar then maybe it will move a lot of systems but so far it doesn't look that way at all. And in case you think I am a fan boy I own all 3 major consoles and I enjoy them equally. I'm just being realistic.

EA: Medal of Honor has generated $100 million

Wait a minute. I thought units shipped don't equal to units sold. I guess ea has a different method for determining their profit.

EVO 4G starts getting Android 2.2 update over the air

Aug 3rd 2010 12:11AM (Engadget)
@ok old news again

Fortunately for non-iphone users we can replace standard batteries that don't last very long with extended batteries that last much longer. I just bought the seidio extended evo battery and I have been able to go more than 24 hours without a charge. It may even go more than 48 hours without a charge. This battery is a monster and now I truly have a perfect phone

EVO 4G starts getting Android 2.2 update over the air

I wanted to comment that the seidio extended battery is the real deal. I got mine in the mail last friday and my evo can last easily 24 hours before a charge with a full day of heavy use. It may even last up to 48 hours before charging. I surfed the web, had bluetooth on all day, watched espn mobile tv for an hour, watched some other videos, then decided to glance at my battery. I think it went down maybe 1% after 4 to 5 hours of use.

Apple to give away free cases to iPhone 4 users

Jul 16th 2010 10:37PM (Engadget)
Note to Steve Jobs: if you can't admit that you blew it, that means you blew it.

Note to iphone users who don't care about this issue: Its great that you still want your phone despite this flaw but there is nothing wrong in desiring your product to be its very best. Especially if the flaw in question affects the most fundamental usage of that product. Cell phones are primarily meant to be phones and if you cannot use them as phones without adding an external solution to them something is seriously wrong.

Note to Engadget and Joshua Toplosky: Consumer Reports still will not recommend the iphone 4. They stated today in their response to the apple press conference that the bumper is not an adequate fix. In light of this report I still do not understand why you cannot re-do the iphone 4 review. How can you claim credibility for your reviews from a journalistic point of view when you refuse to take into account that you gave a cell phone a 9 out of 10 for its review that has a fundamental flaw it what its primary purpose is? How can you give the evo 4g an 8 out of 10 and the Droid X a 7 out of 10 when neither one of these phones lack this glaring flaw but both of these phone can basically do everything that the iphone 4 AND they can consistently make phone calls without needing external devices added to the frame. Lets not even begin to look at the issues with the iphone 4 proximity sensor. This just gives more ammo to those who think you guys are on apple's payroll. You're not on their payroll, are you? And actually if you were I would have no problem with that. Just make this clear to your readers so that people who come to your site and desire to read generally unbiased, informative stories will not be taken by surprise by the pro-apple news and overly apologetic language towards any mistakes or drawbacks of apple products.

Apple deleting mentions of Consumer Reports' iPhone 4 piece on forums, can't delete your thoughts

Until iphone users demand a change and/or a fix to this apple will not do anything. Its time for the consumer to speak up with their most powerful tool, their wallets.

Apple: iPhone 4 reception problem is a software issue, fix coming in 'a few weeks'

Jul 2nd 2010 6:08PM (Engadget)
I think its time for some classaction action on behalf of the millions of iphone users out there. I think once that happens apple will start fixing the problem.

Droid X ad pokes fun at iPhone 4 antenna troubles

Jul 1st 2010 12:21AM (Engadget)
"Glad we got that established -- next Moto will be telling us the alarm clock on its phones works just fine too. Skip past the break for the untrimmed ad."

At first I took a double take at this overly biased apple-loving statement. Then I realized that Vlad was at it again. Its o.k. Vladdie, we understand that apple is paying you to be the resident engadget ireporter. I hope they are paying you enough to make it worth your while seeing that you guys don't have customers and all....

Apple responds to iPhone 4 reception issues: you're holding the phone the wrong way

Jun 25th 2010 12:36AM (Engadget)
Maybe this is the real reason why the white iphone 4 was delayed. If it magically appears a few months later with a different type of antennae fixing this problem apple will have a lot of pissed off iphone owners out there.

Apple responds to iPhone 4 reception issues: you're holding the phone the wrong way

Jun 24th 2010 11:56PM (Engadget)
Hold on. I thought apple released a statement saying this problem was only related to a software bug. Looks like they were not being totally truthful and this is a legitimate issue with the phone having an external antennae of this design. I am very surprised that this particular feature of the new iphone was not fully tested before its release. I am even more surprised that apple has responded by telling its millions of stakeholders that they are not operating their devices properly.
