Watch Pokemon Conquest trailers, lament Nobunaga's omission

Apr 5th 2012 6:51AM (Joystiq)
Not to mention all the times Nobunaga's been reincarnated as/ turned into a well endowed woman. Which happens more often than you would probably expect.

In related news, Robin will hopefully be cosplaying as Sarah Kerrigan sometime soon.

@FreakSheet Being invisible was cool except for the trail of wrappers you leave behind.

And I immediately thought of Ika Musume. It makes sense in context.

Excellent. I have a cherished history of learning video game themes, and only video game themes, on the piano. So far, I have two Xenosaga, three Final Fantasy, Portal, Tetris, and one from Devil May Cry. It's always fun smashing some soccer mom's preconceptions about how all video game music from the 8-bit era.

Let's see if I can add some indie hipster to my repertoire.

WRUP: Hell and insomnia are coming

Mass Effect 3. On the good side, the new combat system, weight management and weapon mods all work very well, unlike ME1's cluttered inventory and ME2's complete lack of options. I have Liara back. And I haven't heard anything from James since I started ignoring him! BONUS.

However, I think the game is somewhat smaller than the older ones, like moving from a spacious house with high ceilings into some cramped apartment. I'm not claustrophobic, it just seems crowded. I noticed I have far fewer options in conversation than I used to, and the smaller maps mean less shops and quests than I'd like. It's surprisingly linear, which is disappointing. Also, mission #1 is "Find a Forerunner- I MEAN PROTHEAN weapon that will solve all of our problems." On Mars! That goes beyond contrived and a little into stupid.

I've found so far that my only problem is not having any real use for the gun, sadly. I just ended up playing through a world and basically forgetting I had it. The puzzle packs were a great addition, though.

And I certainly can't argue with freeware, especially when it's so damn smooth and interesting. And free.

@(Unverified) And not at ALL fitting with the show's gritty realism.
