LOL... the $ony guys in this post are hilarious. People can argue and argure the format war and pricing and blah blah blah... the great thing about this is YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT!

The large majority of people in this country don't have an HDTV. In that instance buying a P$3 means you're paying for technology that you won't even be using.

Also, did anyone see Assasian's Creed demo at X'06 running on the 360? Gonna be on on DVD9...

Only reason I'm interested in Nintendo is for Zelda. Now that the Wii is $250 (+ game) seems a little too much. I think I'll just pick up a gamecube ($79) and Zelda TP ($49) for less than half the price.

... AND NO PACK IN?! Quite investment to try "new-gen".

I think the main reason this will find it so hard to become successful is because the main stream just isn't that tech savvy. They're not the ones buying this kind of thing. Eventually digital distribution will be common place... but not for a while.

Microsoft has a better game plan IMO by using the 360 as a vechical to get people into digital distribution. The XBOX will have 10 million units sold by the end of the year. The people buying aren't buying it for downloadable movies, music, etc... they buy it to play games off a DVD. But, after playing around with it they discover "Hey, I can DL TV shows and movies" then you already have millions ready to do it instead of trying to get people to understand it a make a purchase for ONLY that reason.

Also, cable has a better shot with ondemand... if they could enhance it to be more current it'll be way better and have tons more market penetration.

You people bragging about 1080p on the P$3 trip me out. How many of you actually have a TV capable of 1080p? My guess... like 1%... You should stop making a big deal about it.

Also, I bought my 360 to play games before I even knew it'd get an HD-DVD add on. But now that I have it, HD movies seems cool so even at $200 it's still a deal to me. Just icing on the cake.

Let's not forget that none of those other consoles cost $600. If you don't that will factor in to the purchasing decision as to what to purchase you're crazy.

I agree with #9 too. Will you be shocked if they say "Oh, well, Blu-Ray screwed us again... only 700k by year end. Sorry"

It is all about the games... The 360's got 'em and $ony doesn't. The exclusive list for the 360 is more impressive... no question.
