Nice post. I'd quibble with one thing though - while Microsoft Points are a truly bad idea for the Zune marketplace, they actually do make sense on Xbox live for micro-transactions such as gamer pictures, themes, stuff like that. It's only when you get to bigger things that the points model falls on its arse.
I'd disagree with Marc about ergonomics: the keyboard's very comfortable (I've gone through a lot of keyboards thanks to painful RSI, and the Logitech's fine). One minor glitch with the mouse, though: its white plastic discolours very quickly.
Ski gloves tend to have a pocket for a heat pack that's certainly big enough for a nano, and possibly an ipod proper. Or you could just put the ipod in a jacket pocket ;)
I'd be very wary of PocketMac software: their syncing program for smartphones is extremely buggy and their technical support woeful. My PocketMac software hasn't worked since October, and tech support stopped replying to my emails in December. If you check the user comments on the various download sites, you'll see a lot of unhappy customers. For example:

I really do hope this rumour is accurate - and it'd be particularly nice if the headless mac has some sort of Tivo-style functionality. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Safari isn't an ideal everyday browser - I've moved to Firefox because there are still sites that don't work with Safari. They either don't load at all, or they have form list boxes that you can't click in Safari - something that's particularly common with online shopping sites.
