Zune 2.0: How Microsoft could beat the iPod

Dec 1st 2006 3:32AM (TUAW.com)
Nice post. I'd quibble with one thing though - while Microsoft Points are a truly bad idea for the Zune marketplace, they actually do make sense on Xbox live for micro-transactions such as gamer pictures, themes, stuff like that. It's only when you get to bigger things that the points model falls on its arse.

Logitech's Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser for Mac

Jun 14th 2006 3:26AM (Engadget)
I'd disagree with Marc about ergonomics: the keyboard's very comfortable (I've gone through a lot of keyboards thanks to painful RSI, and the Logitech's fine). One minor glitch with the mouse, though: its white plastic discolours very quickly.

PlayStations nabbed from children's hospital [Update 2]

That was my fault, sorry - I'd used a comma at the end of the URL. The links in 15 and 16 work fine and dandy.

Hi folks. The children's charity at yorkhill has a site at http://www.yorkhillchildrensfoundation.org, and the fundraising email's yorkhill.fund@yorkhill.scot.nhs.uk.

iPod-powered gloves

Nov 25th 2005 12:10PM (TUAW.com)
Ski gloves tend to have a pocket for a heat pack that's certainly big enough for a nano, and possibly an ipod proper. Or you could just put the ipod in a jacket pocket ;)

PocketMac for PSP

Mar 31st 2005 2:29AM (TUAW.com)
I'd be very wary of PocketMac software: their syncing program for smartphones is extremely buggy and their technical support woeful. My PocketMac software hasn't worked since October, and tech support stopped replying to my emails in December. If you check the user comments on the various download sites, you'll see a lot of unhappy customers. For example: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11527

Headless iMac to ride to market?

Dec 31st 2004 3:48AM (TUAW.com)
I really do hope this rumour is accurate - and it'd be particularly nice if the headless mac has some sort of Tivo-style functionality. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Sorry, Scott. I still choose Safari over Firefox for the bulk of my browsing

Dec 6th 2004 3:13AM (TUAW.com)
Safari isn't an ideal everyday browser - I've moved to Firefox because there are still sites that don't work with Safari. They either don't load at all, or they have form list boxes that you can't click in Safari - something that's particularly common with online shopping sites.
