Too expensive by far in the UK, to say the least, I feel Nintendo are raping my wallet.

Without doubt I'll buy one on launch day though. But I have two friends who went from "definately will buy one immediately" to "no way man". So I can't help but feel Nintendo are missing an opportunity.

I design interfaces professionally and am a little dubious about the PS3 interface. The fact that texts are only shown when icons are in focus, and that all icons are very similar in appearance, and yet there are hundreds of icons and options and they are split into broad categories makes me think the UI will not fit well with average Joe.

The fact that things don't appear to be (looking at the above list) arranged ergonomically, also makes me think it will be frustrating to use. Having to skim over Photos, Music, Video, etc. just to reach network play and friends is marketing before common sense really.

The 360 blade UI isn't perfect but I think it is a more succesful interface, despite it's initial appearance of greater complexity relative to the PS3 UI.

All this is conjecture and opinion, please don't bother making a flamefest, thanks.

I got hitman, pgr3 and a premium for 320 from gamestation 3 and a bit months ago. I still like the sound of the above deal though.

I have a current gen samsung LCD, it is so bright it can actually be painful to look at areas of pure white. I imagine this will fade with age though, unlike LED backlighting. But if brightness is your worry, then you don't have to fear the current line of samsungs.

Blacks on the other hand suck.

It's a pity, I know a lot of people who want one, having played on mine, but feel it is too expensive.

Extra "value" won't convince them, they just want to pay less.

All the other weblogs.inc fanboy sites are pretty balanced in their reporting, I may have to unsubscribe from this one! Like blimey! I hope this was meant to be toungue in cheek or something.
