Kutaragi on Sony's competition: "We don't care." [update 1]

Sep 30th 2006 1:52PM (Joystiq)
No, squirrell, where did my comments ever state anything other than a fact. Facts may offend your PC mentality, but they are not provided with the intent of degrading anyone. I still admire the Japanese in may ways. That does not change the facts.

You can't tell the difference between a fact stated openly and something that is created out of thin air simply for the purpose of demeaning an individual or group based upon their ethnic heritage. You need a great many things but you should place education at the top of your list.

Any business man that doesn't care about the competition is being an idiot. Brian was off track in his defense. You cannot blindly launch a product without considering the approach of the competition, the demographic they are targeting, and with what offering.

Ken says he does not care but he is a liar. All the companies involved in the console war have engaged in a perpetual game of one upmanship, Sony included.

Jeff, you are an idiot. You can live the life of perfection in Japan. You can be a respectful zen practitioner that worked to uphold the ideals of the Japanese society. Been there done that. But you can't escape your birth. That was my problem there. Not my actions or citizenship. You stupidly confuse nationality and with genetics. Sheer and utter ignorance. When you have lived there for a couple of years, come back and open your ridiculous trap. People like you should have their mouth sewn shut. When you get your head out of Ken's ass, try expanding your mind with something other than a hash pipe.

Well #16, go live in Japan like I did and you'll meet the largest group of xenophobes ever. I have a few Japanese friends and have long been a student of the Sengoku Jidai. But to many Japanese, we are just filty gaijin. On the whole, they are far more racist than we have ever been.

Ken is just like Phil Harrison and the rest of those arrogant bastards at 3dFx, er, I mean Sony.

Surprise PS3 news from TGS [update 4]

"No TV supported HDMI at E3? Where the hell has he been? Sony's own TVs have had HDMI for about two years now. *Rolls eyes* They just continue to confuse me."

You are not considering that earlier versions of HDMI, like the one on my Sony WEGA, do not support the PS3 HDMI output.

Tsk tsk, IGN. Time to update that "internet use" policy! [update 1]

Great. Now you are beeing attacked by a guy at evilavatar - as if there is a boatload of credibility. First they say in the title you were 'erroneous' - something they cannot prove.

Then they state you shouldn't have banned the guy for his comments. They continue by posting stating it if you were going to do it you should have been quiet. Of course after those comments they then post this bit of tripe:

It get's much better:

Now that is an attempt to belittle the site...thus promoting themselves as some self imposed chamion of justice. What a hypocrite. Finally there is this they do not bother to explain:

What sealed it for me was the Joystiq apology recently. They owned up for slightly overhyping the Nintendo story. It's called integrity. 1Up has none and IGN has very little indeed. I doubt this was organized - that would be giving IGN too much credit.

Wii lookin' wee next to PS3

Jun 30th 2006 11:29AM (Joystiq)
They did not show the biggest part of the PS3. The Price! And not just the console mind you, but the dev kits and games as well. The Theseis cancellation for the PS3 is just the beginning.

I already have a 360. I also had a behind the counter reservation on a PS3 at the local EB. One of those 'manager lists' kept for customers like me that tend to spend too much. I cancelled my PS3 buy and not for the price. Lack of games in 2006 is the big issue. That and I finally have had it with arrogance.

If you are Sony fan, you will still have to have a 360 for non exclusive titles. The reason being that many studios will not produce a title if there are not enough buyers in the fanbase. And with most Japanese gamers saying no to the PS3 and choosing the Wii, and so many American gamers going 360 or Wii, a lot of titles won't make it onto the PS3 just because of low unit numbers.

I do some side work as an independent contractor for 3 studios and none of them is interested in PS3 development for that specific reason. They are betting PS3 sales will be low here and abroad.
