Consoles are entirely possibly, I've played through Baldur's Gate on the PS1 (emulated on my PSP).

So don't give me that "it can't be controlled with a gamepad". If Kid Icarus can sell, if RTS's can be on consoles (Battle for Middle-Earth 2 was excellent), an RPG with pausing during combat is entirely possible. I'd love to an HD updated version from my couch.

Hrm. Is it bad that this reminds me of Two Worlds? Horrible blood graphics. Takes the realism away, which then takes the allure of the world away. Supposed to be dark, gritty, real. Now it's the angsty teen in the corner drawing comics to escape his prison of a mid-american $250,000 home where his biggest issue is that Brenda likes the football captain and not the dark, mysterious, artsy kid. But at least he knows his true self he comforts himself with.

Then again, that's exactly the demographic they're going for I'm sure. Kudos to Cyanide, the studio that brought us such hits as GoT: Genesis and Blood Bowl!

You never play through games twice...? Why? Do they offend you? Shit, I've played through Final Fantasy 7 eight times now, and I feel I wasn't able to fully appreciate it until the third play through.

Actually the original super mario bros is far shorter.

Force Unleashed 2 took me less time to beat as well.

Then again, I doubt you have all the trophies in it.

Difference between PSP and DS homebrew though is that it required no additional hardware. Spend 15 minutes reading a guide, installing some software, and done. DS required the purchase of a device that changes with every DS model so is less appealing. Also you have to look at the target audience for both systems. DS users have the more casual and often less tech-savvy individuals (grandparents for Brain Age, grandchildren who love the N / Wii). PSP targeted teens to twenty something males who are far more familiar with bittorrents and rapidshares.

Personally I hope they keep on top of piracy/homebrew this time around because a broken trophy system will be incredibly discouraging this early into the game.
