It's not likely to be the SMS that's doing it but the code behind it - when you get an SMS the application will store it in a buffer, manipulate it, figure out who it was from and much more - any step could have a buffer overrun or such.
How do you think IE gets exploited? It's not just HTML an such - everything ends up in memory at some point, if it's in the wrong place then it may be exploitable
just because this is in SMS doesn't mean it couldn't be elsewhere - just that the other apps don't manipulate the data in the same way
I have a kenwood head unit which connects to the dock connector, it has Bluetooth too so the phone just goes in the glove box.
Interference can be suppressed with RF chokes - those things you see on the ends of some USB cables just before the plug, wrap the speaker cables around one
That picture shows the cable going to the USB port on the N95. No Nokia phone can charge via USB, they all use their own socket (which on the N95 is to the edge of the bottom, not in the middle)
Our local Tesco put the game boxes on the shelf in security cases, you buy this and the cashier at the till removes the game box from the case. You then go to customer services who go into a saferoom to get another security case which contains the game disc which they put into the box for you. Can't get much more secure than that!
However, I agree about the problem of returning the item. I have tried to return CDs before but because they were not sealed they refused to take them. A letter to head office fixed that.
I radio station from the UK (BRMB) did a stunt involving trying to sit on a block of dry ice for the longest time. The contestants all ended up with severe burns.
Even with waivers and medical help on hand the station were found guilty of breaching health and safety laws and fined.
So, with any luck the station involved here can be sued/prosecuted even if there was a waiver. I've always been against suing people but in this case I think it's very appropriate.
Whilst I agree that putting this on a bike is probably unsafe (I don't ride but have a relations who do) if people stopped breaking the damn speed limits there would be no need for this sort of thing.
And, to whoever said that pulling out to overtake at 60 then getting stuck at 60 in oncoming traffic is the problem - it's illegal to break the limit at ANY time - this includes overtaking - If you are already doing 60ish why overtake?
Wonder if it will support Java (J2ME) like most mid- to high-end phones these days. At least that way games and simple apps can be added to it even if larger scale ones can't.
If it doesn't that will definately stop me from getting one - I have a lot of J2ME apps which are very useful. Since they announced this it seems like there's just more and more reasons not to get one...
I could never get the hang of QuickSilver etc. so the Apps folder on the right is a folder containing links to other commonly used apps. Right mouse button FTW!
Xcode is there since most of the stuff I use I've written and is perpetually in a state of being debugged so it gets launched from within Xcode.
