A Message From the AOL.com Team

Dec 21st 2012 9:27AM (Portalblog)
I am a proud gun owner and an avid target shooter. I enjoy guns for not only the sport but also their history. No law short of banning all weapons could have prevented this tragedy and even in that case, god forbid, a bomb could have been crafted instead, just as Timothy McVeigh did, and caused even more damage. This person was a terrorist plain and simple and he set out to accomplish his goal and he would have found the means no matter what laws were in place. Calling for a ban on guns, semi-automatics, pistols, whatever, will not solve anything. This will simply create a thriving black market of illegal guns just like we have a black market for illegal drugs. We can't control our borders to stop the flow of drugs right now and it costs us billions every year. Trying to stop an additional influx of illegal guns would simply cost billions more that we can't afford. This is the disaster that we invite when we suggest one-sided solutions like this. There is something fundamentally wrong with this country that we are creating people that would set out to do these horrible things. The people of this country are tired of working hard to scrape by while watching people who havent worked for it, collect government handouts. We are tired of watching the value of our dollar decline day after day forcing us to work harder and harder to survive. We watch the media focus only on the negative and promote stories to benefit their own agenda. The United States was founded on the principal that you can work hard and succeed, however, the exact opposite system has been created. Those who take government assistance get free money, free food, free healthcare, free housing, etc. And the more children you bring into the world into these circumstances, the more handouts you get. We watch illegal aliens cross our borders and take jobs, we watch our companies that we have worked for for years send our jobs overseas to save a few bucks. Our unions force us to strike and we end up unemployed. We watch our manufacturing capability decline, we watch the price of gas, clothing and food rise. Please tell me, is this not a system that would create a person this crazy? Maybe we should all sit back and see that the problem is not the guns, not even so much the individual, maybe the fundamental problem here is the system that created this monster.

Modern Warfare 3 trailer announces 'Strike Package' classes

hmmmm, sounds a bit like Battlefield doesnt it? Im not trashing call of duty at all but I thought the thing that made it different from battlefield was that it was more 'hardcore' I suppose you could say. Now with different classes and rewarding players equally I balances the game which isnt a bad thing but basically uses the Battlefield formula except without vehicles.

GameStop intentionally removing Deus Ex OnLive coupons from retail PC copies (update: GameStop statement and legal outlook)

Gamestop always does this kind of stuff. I went to buy a new copy of Bioshock from gamestop when it came out and they handed me an open copy and tried to sell it as new. What they do is allow their employees to open product, play it, then return it to the box and sell it for full price. I demanded a sealed copy and they said they didn't have any so I buy my games elsewhere now. If I wanted to buy a used copy I would have asked for one. But this is much worse now that they are taking actual content that the customer is paying for and throwing it away. Every person who bought this game should demand compensation.

I picked it up because I saw it on the shelf and then I remembered that you guys had said it was pretty good so I gave it a chance and it turned out it was well worth it. I just wish it was a little more diverse and longer but overall I thought it was a great change of pace! The colorful post-apocolypse was refreshing in virtual worlds soaked in browns, greens and grays
