I played through the whole game with my Slim on 2.80 then 3.0. Didn't lock up once.

I did get it to lock up after I beat the game though. Went to the in-game XMB, selected a video I wanted to watch, told it ok to exit the game...3 beeps and one black screen later it was locked. The button holding trick didn't work like with my old 60GB, had to yank the power cable. Yuck.

Poor Canadians with your CRTC jacking everything up. It's got to be the least friendly organization in the world when it comes to media licensing, internet streaming included.

That's why you guys don't get Netflix and constantly have to find proxies to watch streams from NBC.com and others. Your FCC equivalent is way too restrictive. Contact your, uh, parliament member if you and others want this to change.

Xanto is right, Halo is way fruitier. You must not have seen the neon colored weapons, the sparkly, fabulous armor all the characters wear, etc.

@Flicky: What do you bet that the Slims ship with a firmware revision slightly different than what everyone is running right now, and that's the reason the OtherOS feature is missing? There's no hardware excuse to exclude it.

NPD also predicts announcements like this bring out the douchebag posters that say things like "I just might buy one now but I love paying for Live!" and "LOL no gamez" and the ever-popular, "NO BC NO PURCHASE" which is douchebag for "I can't afford it and it's the only thing left to criticize now that it is affordable".

That wasn't a rumor, that was a poll from Sony. Buuuut...it is also the first hint that Sony has 100% software emulation (at least for a few titles) in the works.

There is _nothing_ wrong with that. GoW and GoW2 were graphical masterpieces that blew everyone's minds, nobody thought the PS2 could even produce visuals like that.

I guess when you set an insanely high standard, it's hard to raise that bar.

1. RMA your PS3 one more time.
2. Sell it on Ebay. Full BC consoles are worth money, or at least people say they are.
3. Buy a PS2 slim and a PS3 slim.

Uh, why not stand them both up vertically? The slim ps2 has a stand right? Besides, stacking on an oval surface (PS3 lid) probably isn't the best idea.
