Rock Band 3 review: The only rhythm game you'll ever need

Oct 22nd 2010 11:17AM (Joystiq)
"The active Xbox Live Gamertag can even be moved from instrument to instrument with the press of a few buttons"

As pumped as I am for everything new (rabidly foaming with anticipation), this one sentence is now the thing I am looking forwards to most. Having to log out, close out, log in, set back up just to get the microphone to use the default volume if I started playing on drums is annoying as all hell. Then there's the gotcha if you've ever replaced your console (RROD) and forgot to re-download 1 or 2 songs to the new one, if you select one and you're not logged in you're kicked way the hell back out. I'm far less likely to not be logged in now, which makes a world of difference (as long as the internet stays up...)

Cut the Rope wraps up a million sales

@HunterGathers Have you tried restarting your device? That fixes most crashing problems for most people for most apps... it's usually a library that's just not getting addressed properly and the restart cleans all of that up.

It is possible to get a refund from apple, but they're not keen on it so expect an awful lot of hassle to get 99c back.

Bing offers Microsoft Points in search rewards program

Sep 23rd 2010 6:54PM (Joystiq)
@R Planteer

The flip side is I don't know anyone who's used bing at all, open mind or not, that stuck with it... Bells and whistles are nice, but I use a search engine to find things... like things relevant to what I'm searching for, and for that google is just better (granted IMO, but apparently in the opinions of a lot of other people as well).

Another thing is I just want a simple interface, no background pictures. No side bars like windows has that just eat up valuable space. I suspect more people are with me than against me on this one as well based on the HUGE backlash google got after they tried for like 6 hours to have a background image like bing...

And I'm not a huge google fan. Frankly they're starting to scare me as a company (not Microsoft scary, but still corporate giant out for your SSN and soul scary), but I think it's still a better service.

To each their own, some people still like yahoo... even though yahoo doesn't even use yahoo anymore...

Sony: PSP Go 'experiment' revealed consumers' love of physical media

Jun 8th 2010 3:51PM (Joystiq)
Is this the first "official" backpedal on the Go? i.e. are the finally starting to admit they had a crap idea and then let it warm in the sun?

I also smell the first inklings of "see blu-ray is totally the way to go, digital download is stupid, just look at our own product!" never minding the fact they they themselves killed it before birth with the price and then starved what came out...

Sorry for the imagery, it just sort of happened...

Anywho, back to playing flower, the best game I have yet met for my PS3, which has never seen a blu-ray movie...

content people, content!

track his dead drop times and locations using the calendar and google maps... perhaps he's a forgetful spy who's not very good at covering his tracks... like most of the ones we've caught in recent years.

They have 3 part harmonies in Beatles RB, I would have been shocked if they didn't put that in RB3...
