Ive never had the same experience in a MMOG as i have had watching LOST. Just watched the final yesterday, and for the last 10 minutes i wept like a little girl.
Anyway, the game i felt quitted me, though it technically didnt die (it still counts, dammit!) is World of Warcraft. I just got sick of pretentious 14 year olds with nothing but gear score on their minds. I had such a blast in the beginning, leveling up, doing some easy dungeons, and jumping around while searching undiscovered places in the game.. But then that blasted addon got released and the game was never the same again.
