I think the hubb-bubb is just a just a reaction to the fact that the expectations of how a game works and how a game presents itself is changing very rapidly.
Have you noticed, in the west, the top rated games are generally lauded for pacing? Pacing in all aspects of presentation and game play has become how games are judged. And when I say pacing I mean many things because stories, game play, breaks between play, are all different parts of pacing. A game with good game-play pacing can be marred by bad story pacing or weird saving systems. A game with great story pacing can be damaged by game-play that starts & stops or asks for players interaction too much or too little.
I don't think Japanese game developers are bad at pacing as much as I think they have a different view of the concept of pacing in games. In the last few years I've noticed that where difference in opinion occur it is often around length or frequency of cut-scenes, saving systems, and 'fail states' that end game play. Each one of those things effects the pacing of games.
Thius device is for nobody. It doesn't do enough for us, and it doesn't meet the magic $299 thresh hold for the 'common man'. The iPhone took off because techies snapped it up for $600 and made it the HOT device. Now techies are not there to make it hot-tech at $499/$599/$800+, and for the common man it still costs too much.
My advice wait. When the 16GB comes down to $299 then buy. Apple can make the hardware a loss-leader with the iStore, so let's see if Steve as the guts to sell it as a loss leader.
The choice of XBOX 360 is an insult to consumers. A bit of broken tech with a 16% to 32% failure rate should not be lauded anywhere. With that logic people who bought cars in '60 to '63 they should have bought a Corvair. XBL might get a nod, but the MS console hardware has disappointing in both iterations.
1) Edsel Class - Best membered for its trademark "horsecollar" grille, distinct from other star ships. A widely circulated wisecrack at the time was that "It looked like an Salt Vampire sucking on a lemon".
2) Swinney Class - Named for the inventor of the first practical transgyro-stabilized monopod warp field design engine, The principal advantage of the mono-nacel is the suppression of the Hunting oscillation, which was a speed limitation encountered by conventional warp drives. Also, sharper turns are possible compared to the typical of modern high-warp ships.
3) Scrips Flip Class - This striking ship came about when the first ship of the class was built upside down because of an error in the subspace transmission of the plans to the ship yard orbiting Mars.
Ummm of course she likes voice acting. First off nobody can tell she's SUPER OLD when it is just her voice. Second, when you see her in game they make her 'not' SUPER OLD looking, so everyone can still imagine she looks hot.
That pic just tells me I'd rather have a more realistic looking and playing BioShock. The Cartoonie look & play of the past game and the upcoming game turn me off.
Where is the image stabilization? That's why Kodak wins, Zi8 might not be quiet as good but at least Kodak added the most logical item for a hand-held cam.
Call it the Eee Shell not the Eee Seashell....I mean go for the pun!
