Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

Sep 10th 2006 9:47PM (Joystiq)
The game looks insane. I always wanted to play Alien Hominid so I was really excited when I saw it was coming to XBLA too. I wouldn't mind paying $15-$20 for Castle Crashers especially if it's going to feature gameplay depth above and beyond the Live Arcade games that are available for $10. The co-op play alone should make it worth the price of admission

Gamer culture: I can't ambi-shoulder-button

Sep 7th 2006 2:23PM (Joystiq)
This is odd because even if you're right handed the majority of game control is done with your left hand (analog stick, D-pad). I've never even thought about it being an issue. Being ambidextrous (at least with a pad in your hand) just kind of goes with the territory.

I couldn't even hail a cab with my left thumb under other circumstances :p

Get Edge in the U.S. cheap(er)

Aug 31st 2006 2:41PM (Joystiq)
It is a great mag but I'll stick with leafing through an issue at Borders when I happen to see one. Just like their box art the European ads are so much better than America's also...

Print mags are just becoming more and more useless by the month. It's awkward to even read them when their breaking news is a month or two out of date...

I've subscribed to Play for the last year which is probably the closest US equivalent to Edge but I find I leaf through it in 10 minutes and then it gets piled with the other issues. Needless to say I won't be renewing my subscription for even the meager $20 fee.

Nintendo DS Lite cracks on hinge

Jul 17th 2006 11:56AM (Joystiq)
Wow, I really thought a big part of the redesign and discontinuation of the DS Fat was because of the hinge flaw. I manage a Gamestop and you wouldn't believe the number of DS's that came in with the hinge broken in the exact same spot (always the R button side hinge).

Nintendo's products are usually the most durable and reliable, I hope the Lite doesn't continue the flaws the original had.

Wii launch date Nov. 6 says SI for Kids

Jul 2nd 2006 9:41PM (Joystiq)
The date is definitely false but all Nintendo systems are released on Sunday's (at least here in the US). Games are released (shipped) on Monday's.

Regardless though, right around Nov. 6th is a pretty solid guess. It'll be the last week of October or the first week of November.
